Patriot is well known for their memories and the make a solid image in the minds of the people by the quality of their products and latter in 2012 they are at their peak. Today we take a look at Patriot Supersonic Boost XT USB 3.0 Flash Drive of 32GB Storage capacity.in the past USB 3.0 support has been largely limited to high-end thumb drives such as the Patriot Supersonic Magnum that we reviewed late last year. At the time of release this drive was hideously expensive. Prior to reviewing the Supersonic Magnum we tested the standard Supersonic thumb drive which still cost a cool $100 for the 64GB version. The back panel also has the same design, as it lists the main aspects of the drive such as it being complaint with the USB 3.0 interface, as well as backwards compatible. In addition, the back panel also lists the rugged spill resistant and shock absorbing qualities of the casing. The Patriot Supersonic Boost XT also has a 5 year warranty, which along with the rubberized outer design should ensure this drive is functional well beyond the five year warranty period. The Patriot Supersonic Boost XT comes in capacities ranging from 8GB to 64GB, and the drives start for as low as $13.99. In addition, the exterior of the Boost XT is designed with an ultra-durable rubberized housing that is both shock resistant and water proof. This will prevent the drive from losing all the data if it is accidentally left in a pocket and thrown in the washer, or if electrostatic shock comes in contact with the drive.Aesthetically, the Boost XT sports a black and blue color scheme and the drive lists the model, brand and capacity on the sides. The drive also features an activity LED at the back of the drive along with an attachment area for a Lanyard and a removable cap at the top that is also rubberized. However during March of this year Patriot announced a more wallet friendly Supersonic USB 3.0 thumb drive, known as the Boost XT. Available in capacities up to 32GB, the Supersonic Boost XT can move files at up to 90MB/s when using the USB 3.0 interface and when unplugged and on the go it can take a bit of a beating thanks to the rugged design.Patriot says that merging the ruggedness of their Xporter line with the speed of the Supersonic range, then shrinking the form factor, positions the Supersonic Boost XT to be the best choice for ultra-demanding users looking for excellent portability.
None will deliver the promised 5Gbps speed, but the variance is quite large. As general guidance, the more expensive sticks do perform considerably better.Patriot's Supersonic Boost XT is a rubberised, water-resistant USB flash drive, with a detachable lid and a red activity light. Our review sample, weighing in at 32GB, currently sells online for around AU$50. It's regular USB stick size and doesn't get in the way of other ports when you plug it in.Patriot Supersonic Boost XT does perform decent but not better than previous generation as expect and also its performance is much shaky when we test it with large files ( <3GB ).
Now lets take a look at BenchMarks results.....
- Good attractive Design.
- Nice Build quality and solid Body.
- Decent Read Performance.
- Not Expensive.
- Performance is much Shaky.
- Poor performance than previous Generation.
