Kingston HyperX 64GB Review + BenchMarks

Kingston has a strong track record when put a sight at the history and we can easily understand why they are at the top in the memory making manufacturers list. They always made performance products. Today we review the Kingston HyperX series USB 3.0 Flash Drive, the Kingston HyperX 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive/Memory.HyperX is a drive that offers both capacity and performance. Normally the HyperX line comes with pretty fancy packaging above and beyond what the packaging would be for average devices. A perfect example of this is the HyperX SSD drive we reviewed recently. We were slightly surprised to see the HyperX USB drive in a plastic package with nothing more than the drive, standard instructions and a basic keychain adapter. You can store a lot of movies, pictures or music on 64GB, and the eight-channel microcontroller can deliver peak speeds that are as much as twice or even four times higher than the more common four-channel and two-channel controllers.According to Kingston, it can achieve speeds of 225MB/s read and 135MB/s write. In the real-world tests, of course, our results were much lower, but they were still close to hard drive speeds, which is a good result for a USB flash drive. It even handled small file reads and writes well, which are often the Achilles’ heel of flash drives.Kingston has always been conservative with speed ratings, so when we saw that this drive was rated at 225MB/s read and 135MB/s write when used on a USB 3.0 port, we couldn't wait to see what it could really do. With impressive read and write speeds like this, the HyperX USB 3.0 Flash drive has performance numbers that would cause most portable hard drives to run and hide. Kingston is able to hit high-speeds like these thanks to an 8-channel controller paired with some seriously fast NAND memory. This is critical as it saves time when opening and transferring large files. Heck, you could even expand a notebooks storage or backup an entire system on one of these drives since they are available in 256GB capacities. In the end the Kingston DataTraveler HyperX 3.0 64GB Flash Drive is a total win in my book and it's the one drive that's perfect for anyone seriously looking for a flash drive that's super fast, and can handle large transfers with the swiftness. Before I forget the HyperX 3.0 is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, and 7 as well as Mac computers.
