There are many laptops are in the market and especially the thinner ones are the mainly sold notebooks these days which are also known as ultrabooks. In this coming winter people have wide variety to choose from here in Asia, for example all the brands had introduced many ultrabooks and they are still doing that so people have more options to choose. The ultrabooks are light weight as well as they last long so if you had a notebook which last for 6 or 7 hours easily then you don’t have to remain around the power socket but choosing the right one is not an easy job without doing proper homework before going into the market for deal. The balance between the need and budget is not a hard thing to do these days as you can ask experts and take their opinions to make perfect decisions. Today we are going to review a notebook from Sony, its Sony Vaio SV-F15A1S2ES.
The 15.5-inch Sony Vaio SV-F15A1S2ES is equipped with a full size keyboard with separate numpad as expected with any 15+ inch notebook. The keys are large enough for high speed typing and for fingers of a normal person. The Backlit Chiclet style keyboard is efficient regarding responsiveness as we found it pretty good and typing was a good experience on the keyboard of Sony Vaio SV-F15A1S2ES. The three-level backlight is also available for people who use their notebooks in nights. The touchpad is also decently large and its basically a click pad as well. The click keys are integrated into the touchpad. We had test these kind of click pads before which are as whole work as key so it is not a new thing. The touchpad is unfortunately not as good as keyboard is. The touchpad often miss the touch of the fingers and especially while multi-gesture operation, it was horrible and Sony has to fix this problem because its not even good enough for normal use and need to apply more force to record touch. Overall Sony Vaio SV-F15A1S2ES has good keyboard and poor touchpad.
The Sony Vaio SV-F15A1S2ES has stereo speakers which are located surprisingly on the edge of the bottom on the rear side which a new place of speakers we saw. When we test the sound of the speakers, we found the sound produced by speaker very tiny and its was decently loud but the base was completely missing. The sound quality is not acceptable at all so we recommend using external speakers for better performance. Overall Sony Vaio SV-F15A1S2ES has poor speakers.
The Sony Vaio SV-F15A1S2ES has much slim casing which is why it remains quiet in the idle mode and we were able to hear the noise of the notebook rarely in the normal load but it get very louder in the load or stress test and the noise raised to very distraction level which is not ignorable. The aluminum case seems to be disadvantage in the case of temperatures as we measured a little high temperatures in the idle working than many notebooks we had reviewed till today. The temperatures raised pretty quickly and remain under the danger level so it can be used on the lap but temperature near the vent was high. Overall Sony Vaio SV-F15A1S2ES remain cool but not quiet.
The Sony Vaio SV-F15A1S2ES has pretty much to offers, The Sony Vaio SV-F15A1S2ES is powered with 3rd Gen. Intel Core i7 CPU and Nvidia GT 745M GPU so combination is pretty much balanced. The display is good, keyboard and connectivity options are also nice. The temperatures are low as well in stress test than competitors but it runs louder, touchpad and speakers are poor. The display is not good for professional users but for normal users, its not to worry. The build quality is not good as expected but design is quite attractive.
