HP Pavilion 17 e126sg
HP Pavilion 17 e126sg

pros
  • Good design and solid build quality.
  • Good keyboard and touchpad.
  • Good performance.
  • Decent battery life.
  • Runs quiet and cool.
  • Decent connectivity options.

cons
  • Low resolution display screen.
  • No Bluetooth.

Plenty of notebooks are available in the market and it is very hard to choose the perfect notebook for some people, a friend of mine went to the market to purchase a notebook for his office work and he get very confuse and at last he bought a notebook of which he is un-satisfied now. When I ask him, why he is un-satisfied now because you are the person who went and buy it, then he told me that “i just go to the market without any homework and because there were plenty of notebook of different types and specs so I got confuse and just bought what store staff suggest”, The notebook market is very vast now, as it provide wide range of options as well for user but chance to buying a un-desire performer notebook also raised a lot so just do some research before going to stores is a good practice, today we are going to review HP Pavilion 17 e126sg which again a new notebook in Pavilion series of HP so now let check it out.

The HP Pavilion 17 e126sg is a 17.3-inch notebook with the total weight of about 2.9 Kg which is a little heavy than the usual trend in notebooks. The case has a little change than its predecessor, for example, the black lid has now brushed lines which gives it dashing looks and also the overall color scheme is Black and some silver but Black is dominating the overall color scheme. The base unit is made of plastic of black color which is very nice to see. Its not same as others but have some changes as well. The hinges are good too and the edges are well managed this time, whereas the predecessor model has some problem with the edges, we think they were not a good match with overall case design but thanks to HP for HP Pavilion 17 e126sg. Overall HP Pavilion 17 e126sg has good design and good build quality.

The HP Pavilion 17 e126sg has 17.3-Inch AU Optronice TN LED Glossy Display which offer the max resolution of about 1600x900. The max supported resolution is not even at minimum expected level of 17.3-Inch displays, the resolution that we were expecting was 1920x1080 at least but we were disappointed to know about 1600x900. The display is a TN LED panel so max brightness is not much high but still mid-level. The contrast ratio is much better than its other features. The display is basically a TN LED panel with 900p resolution so image quality is not optimal for professional users. The viewing angles are pretty decent so the only problems we find, the low resolution which is not way acceptable for a 17.3-inch screen. So Overall HP Pavilion 17 e126sg has good screen with low resolution.

The keyboard is a large key holder but rounded key edges make it feel very good and attractive as well. The key size is large as expected from a 17.3-inch notebook. There are now special keys so all the shortcuts are available with function key & F1 to F11 keys. The feedback is very good and we do not find any problem with the keyboard, it performs flawlessly. The touchpad pad is a large one as expected with very suitable surface for gliding the fingers over it as well as two click buttons, below it which are still very good. The touchpad also performs well so Overall HP Pavilion 17 e126sg has good keyboard and touchpad.

The HP Pavilion 17 e126sg has very good noise controlling case which always keep to reduce the noise. It was almost quiet in the idle mode but because of HDD, there is still some noise if you will do any CPU or GPU hungry work than the fan noise increases quickly but still its ignorable and you can watch a movie without any distraction. The HP Pavilion 17 e126sg remain not just quiet but cool during the idle mode test and the temperatures raises a little but still it is useable on the lap but not for 4+ hours consecutively. Overall HP Pavilion 17 e126sg remains cool and quiet most of the time.

The HP Pavilion 17 e126sg has good stereo speakers which produce not very high quality sound but still very decent and good enough for a notebook of this price range. The max volume is also very loud so watching a movie with 2 or three friends only is not a problem. The sound quality is good enough. Overall HP Pavilion 17 e126sg has good speakers.

The HP Pavilion 17 e126sg has good connectivity options but still one thing is missing, the Bluetooth which is not a good thing to go. The HP Pavilion 17 e126sg has WiFi for wireless connectivity as well. The HP Pavilion 17 e126sg has optical drive, 1x USB 2.0, Ethernet port, Audio jack and Kingston lock on the right side. The HP Pavilion 17 e126sg also has 2x USB 3.0, VGA, HDMI port and card reader on the left side as well. Overall HP Pavilion 17 e126sg has good connectivity options.

The HP Pavilion 17 e126sg has Lithium-ion based 4 Cells, battery pack which manages to keep it running for about 131 minutes which is just over average battery life in our battery life which more optimize so if any notebook lasts over 150 minutes than its very good. We run all the applications, play HD videos, surf internet Via WiFi, File copying and using Bluetooth to connect phone, typing a document and play audio songs etc. to measure the timing which is applicable to real life. So Overall HP Pavilion 17 e126sg has decent battery life.

The HP Pavilion 17 e126sg is a decent notebook for daily users especially home uses, The HP Pavilion 17 e126sg has 4th Gen Core i5 CPU and AMD Radeon graphics which is pretty good combination for any office notebook or a mid-level gamer, it has good keyboard and touchpad as well. The HP Pavilion 17 e126sg remains almost quiet and very cool in any situation. The Display screen has low resolution and speakers of HP Pavilion 17 e126sg are good. The HP Pavilion 17 e126sg has decent battery life. It’s a decent notebook but faces must difficulties in competition with competitors. I would not recommend this notebook for students and professionals who need best display screens. So check other options before making a final decision.

HP EliteBook 820 G1
HP EliteBook 820 G1
HP EliteBook 820 G1
HP EliteBook 820 G1

pros
  • Good design and solid build quality.
  • Good keyboard, TrackPoint and touchpad.
  • Good performance.
  • Good battery life.
  • Remains Unbelievably quiet and cool.
  • Good connectivity options.

cons
  • Poor speaker (almost useless).
  • Poor display screen.
  • Not thin as ultrabooks but has no optical drive.

Plenty of notebooks are available in the market and it is very hard to choose the perfect notebook for some people, a friend of mine went to the market to purchase a notebook for his office work and he get very confuse and at last he bought a notebook of which he is un-satisfied now. When I ask him, why he is un-satisfied now because you are the person who went and buy it, then he told me that “i just go to the market without any homework and because there were plenty of notebook of different types and specs so I got confuse and just bought what store staff suggest”, The notebook market is very vast now, as it provide wide range of options as well for user but chance to buying a un-desire performer notebook also raised a lot so just do some resech before going to stores is a good practice, today we are going to review HP EliteBook 820 G1 which again a new notebook in EliteBook series of HP so now let check it out.

The HP EliteBook 820 G1 is a 12.5-inch notebook which is a very suitable, I would say perfect for taking it everywhere so HP EliteBook 820 G1 has magnesium work in the case which seems to be a good idea from HP. The total weight of HP EliteBook 820 G1 is about 1.5 Kg which is good as well. The color combination is a little different than the usual color scheme that HP uses for its notebook. The rounded corners are also a good looking and attractive part of HP EliteBook 820 G1. The case is very consistent and we do not find any flaw is the build quality and there are not soft areas to worry about. The hinges are good to handle the display screen as well. The base unit is a plus point regarding build quality. The lid is also good so Overall HP EliteBook 820 G1 has good design and build quality.

The HP EliteBook 820 G1 has 12.5-Inch TN LED Backlight Display screen with the max resolution of 1366x768 which is a good resolution for screen of this size. The screen has 125 pixel density which is just average. The screens of HP EliteBooks are not good for professional and that has been a bad point for EliteBooks and in case of HP EliteBook 820 G1, screen is remains the same. The screen make the HP EliteBook 820 G1 behind in competition with its competitors so as the max brightness is also not at good level and most of its competitors have more bright display screens. The images quality is also a bad point for HP EliteBook 820 G1 as we tested it using our ultrahigh resolution images and the lag in quality is easily noticeable. The contrast ratio is not perfect but reflection in outdoor condition is a little less than some of its competitors. The HP EliteBook 820 G1 can be used outdoor but in the shadow of a tree or building. The viewing angles are also not pleased to see for more than one person. Overall HP EliteBook 820 G1 has poor display screen.

The HP EliteBook 820 G1 is basically a 12.5-inch notebook but still a very decent size keyboard is available for users. The Chiclet keyboard has been used in HP EliteBooks and they used it in HP EliteBook 820 G1 as well but because of its 12.5-inch size, the special functions keys are removed to adjust the keyboard. The HP also provides the backlight for the users as well which is a good point for any notebook. The keys are good to use and they work very consistently as well. The perfect feedback and pressure points are the main plus point of the keyboard of HP EliteBook 820 G1. The touchpad is a perfect for any 12.5-inch notebook regarding size. The pad is a very nice touchpad for the users, it has very suitable surface for finger gliding as well as consistent performance. The click keys are separately available above and below the touchpad. The keys are also good to use. The TrackPoint between ‘G’, ‘H’ and ‘B’ keys is also very good to use and very accurate but most people do not use the TrackPoint so Overall HP EliteBook 820 G1 has good keyboard, touchpad and TrackPoint.

The notebooks that become hot after half-an hour or an hour of load are not very useful these days but not in the case of HP EliteBook 820 G1. It just not provide more comfort to take it with us everywhere but also remains cool, no matter what kind of work we do, the HP EliteBook 820 G1 remain very cool. The temperature in normal and load condition were within the comfort limits and it can be used on the lap easily. The HP EliteBook 820 G1 is perfect for noise sensitive people, the people who want their notebook to be quiet most of the time and remain less noisy under load. The HP EliteBook 820 G1 remains almost quiet during normal work. The noise ware pretty low under load. Overall HP EliteBook 820 G1 remains cool and quiet.

There are two speakers located just above the keyboard at the most suitable location. The max volume was pretty good but the sound quality has mountain flaws. The speakers produce tiny quality sound which is loud but useless to enjoy. The only thing to do with them is just to hear nonfiction sounds. Overall HP EliteBook 820 G1 has very poor speakers.

When it comes to connectivity, HP EliteBook 820 G1 has all the connectivity options available for the users. It has 2x USB 3.0 ports, audio jack, Display port, Gigabit LAN, Docking Station slot and Power-in on the right side, It does not have optical drive but the thickness is not in range of ultrabooks. There is a card read, 1x USB 3.0, VGA and Kingston lock on the left side, there is nothing on front and on the rear side. The HP EliteBook 820 G1 has pretty good options for connectivity but it does not have optical drive. The HP EliteBook 820 G1 has good connectivity options.

The HP EliteBook 820 G1 is equipped with 4 Cells, Lithium-ion battery pack of 46 Watts of power which manages to keep the HP EliteBook 820 G1 running for about 255 minutes in our new and improved real life battery test. We use to test the notebook/ laptops according to the real life scenario by measuring the battery during normal use instead of battery life benchmarking, We run all the applications, play HD videos, surf internet Via WiFi, File copying and using Bluetooth to connect phone, typing a document and play audio songs etc. to measure the timing which is applicable to real life. So Overall HP EliteBook 820 G1 has good battery life.

The HP EliteBook 820 G1 is a decent notebook for daily users especially the people who work inside the building i.e. offices, The HP EliteBook 820 G1 has 4th Gen Core i7 CPU and Intel HD 4400 integrated graphics which is pretty good combination for any office notebook, it has good keyboard, TrackPoint and touchpad as well. The SSD is raising the performance with high read/ write speeds and no worry of shock during walking to office. The HP EliteBook 820 G1 remains almost quiet and very cool in any situation. The Display screen and speakers of HP EliteBook 820 G1 are not good and the especially the speakers are almost useless. The HP EliteBook 820 G1 has good battery life. It’s a decent notebook but faces must difficulties in competition with competitors. I would not recommend this notebook for students and professionals who need best display screens and even for anybody who can afford this notebook can easily get a good notebook, much better than HP EliteBook 820 G1 within the same price.

Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 Review + BenchMarks

Lenovo IdeaPad Z510
Lenovo IdeaPad Z510
Lenovo IdeaPad Z510
Lenovo IdeaPad Z510

pros
  • Pretty decent display screen.
  • Reasonable price.
  • Good performance.
  • Good speakers.
  • Good keyboard and touchpad.
  • Good connectivity.

cons
  • Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 Runs louder under load.
  • Display is not good for professional designers.

The notebook market is really hot these days and the environment is not much different from last year except Dell is dominating instead of HP in daily working category in notebook market with booth ultrabooks and laptops, we are not talking about gaming notebooks !. These days of Christmas and New Year are great opportunities for people with small budget as the price drops much more than last year. People should pay attention to new laptop from Dell and Acer which are doing really great job especially Dell. Dell is known for its consistent performer notebooks and invention whereas Acer is known for its sleek design, support and notebooks with good battery life but today we are going to review a Lenovo notebook which is the new Lenovo IdeaPad Z510.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 has very simple but attractive looks, the notebook has silver, I would say milky color and the black matte cream on the milk, I really like the color scheme of the Lenovo IdeaPad Z510. The plastic use very sleekly in the whole case, the brushed surface also feels too good when you touch it. The back of the lid has slightly less dark color than the keys. The notebook as whole has good build quality but it is not much changes than its predecessor. The base of the Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 has some softness which is a little more than expected but still the overall build quality is good. The hinges are strong enough and a little improved. The lid has good pressure absorbing so Overall Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 has good design and pretty decent build quality.

As a balanced laptop, the Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 has a very good display screen regarding size and the max resolution supported by the screen. The matte surface display screen as the Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 has the same kind of screen, so these types of displays are being used by some high end notebook manufacturers. The brightness of the display screen is very nice as expected from this kind of panel. The contrast ratio is not as good as it has to be and to be honest, the image quality is decent for normal users but not for the professional designers who need much details of picture on screen especially ultra HD images. The viewing angles of the display screen are just good and due to its surface, it can be used outside without having any trouble. So overall Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 has good display screen but image quality is not ideal for designers.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 is a 15.6-inch in size and as the tradition of notebook manufacturers, the Lenovo includes a full keyboard with the Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 which is basically a Chiclet style keyboard including separate numpad as well. The keys with dark matte surface are very efficient and we do not find any problem with their efficiency and accuracy as well. The feedback is a little awkward. But the pressure points are perfect so as the touchpad which is basically a clickpad, a good performer in our normal and multi-touch tests. The surface of the touchpad is very suitable for gliding the fingers over it easily. Overall the Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 has good keyboard and touchpad.

The Lenovo has decided to go with the JBL for the speakers, the Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 has two stereo speakers from JBL which are located under the notebook which is not a ideal position and often cause of tiny sound. The Dolby Digital Theatre enhancement software is also included which help to increase the sound quality to an appreciate able level. The max volume is really loud. The base is also very decent and listening music feel really good on Lenovo IdeaPad Z510. Overall Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 has good speakers.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 remains very cool during our normal test and we measure very low temperature readings from all the expected spot on the notebook itself and also of the CPU and GPU as well. The Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 remains cool than the most of the notebooks in the idle working scenario. The temperatures increase a little but still in the green border which is good for the users, one thing to mention here that no other competitor notebook can run cool as the Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 do at the moment. The Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 remain quiet during the idle test, the fan noise was never zero which means it never turn off but still, it was low. The noise increases in the stress test of 2.5 hours and the noise at that moment was loud and distracting. So Overall Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 remains cool but not quiet.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 has good connectivity options for the users, it has Atheros WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 module for high speed wireless connectivity. The Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 also has optical drive, Kingston lock port, 1x USB 2.0, card reader and 1x audio port on the right side. There is nothing on the front and on the rear side. The Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 has Power-in, 2x USB 3.0 ports, VGA, Ethernet port and HDMI port on the left side. So Overall Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 has good connectivity.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 has 4 Cells, Lithium-ion based battery pack of 48 watts which manages to keep the Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 running for about 278 minutes in our battery life test which is a good battery life. We perform all the normal and stress work on notebook e.g. Microsoft office operations, HD videos playback, listening music while typing, surfing web via Ethernet and WiFi, files copying, photo editing, 3D rendering, gaming, copying files from optical disk etc. to get the realistic results which are applicable to real life instead of crappy battery life benchmarks. Overall Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 has short, poor battery life.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 is very good mid-level performance notebook from Lenovo, The Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 has latest Intel 4th Gen. Core i5 dual core CPU and Nvidia GT 740M GPU as well. The Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 has 8GB RAM and 500GB HDD. The display screen is good with 1080p resolution. The speakers are good as well as touchpad and keyboard is nice. The connectivity options are wide and battery life is good for daily usage. The Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 performs good in our benchmarks as well. The price is also reasonable. The display is not ideal for professional designers but if you are a normal user, than it is good for you. The Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 runs louder under load with very distracting noise which is not good for office use and watching movie. The final decision of buying Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 is your and we describe all the pros and cons in most easiest way as we can. You can always contact us for any help or advice.
