G.Kill TridentX C11 2666Mhz Review + BenchMarks

System memory plays an important role in the overall performance of the system. The size of memory, the frequency of the memory, both matters when you want your system runs faster. People often use the 16GB and 32GB memory kits and they does not give proper importance to the frequency, I am talking about the normal users, not Enthusiasts who are mad about frequency as they loves overclocking. G.Kill has been at the top in the memory market and they are known for their performance memories. The G.Kill memories are much reliable and solidly built and they performs faster. Today we are going to review a  16 GB kit from G.kill which is G.Kill TridentX C11-2666Mhz 16GB DDR3 Memory kit.

The G.Kill TridentX C11 is one of their top class memories and it runs at default 1600Mhz but can be easily overclocked to 2666Mhz which is amazing especially for gamer/ enthusiasts. The G.Kill TridentX C11-2666Mhz is very good for professional video/photo editor/designers and they are gonna love it. The red and dark color scheme and the extreme looking heat spreaders give it a perfect eye catching look in first sight. There are G.Kill and the “Trident X”  logo is on the each DIMM. Kingston HyperX Genesis 16GB 2133 Mhz Review + BenchMarks

Motherboard, Graphics Card and Processor are the most in focused components of a gaming PC in the mind of some people and they ignore the importance of RAM or give it less importance as required. A high performance PC needs a high performance RAM as well for better performance. RAMs are very cheap these days and people can afford at least 8GB of RAM easily. The high frequency RAMs are available in wide variety in the market. After the launch of x79 and z77 based Intel CPUs, the memory manufacturer have a good range of support for their memories and that is why most brands are launching high frequency memories every week. Today we are going to take a look at Kingston HyperX Genesis 16GB DDR3-2133Mhz memory.

The Kingston HyperX Genesis 16GB DDR3 kit is really great gamers as it is a quad channel kit so x79 user will get the most benefits as well. Kingston has launch many high performance memories in the market last year and they are really reliable. The blue heat spreaders with small random holes on it looks very attractive to me and heat spreaders are really great to keep the memory cool. The high frequency of 2133 Mhz is really great for enthusiasts.

HyperX Genesis Specifications:

CAS Latency (IDD) 9 cycles

Row Cycle Time (tRCmin) 49.5ns (min.)
Refresh to Active/Refresh Command Time 160ns (min.)
Row Active Time (tRASmin) 36ns (min.)
Power (Operating) 1.410 W* (per module)
UL Rating 94 V - 0
Operating Temperature 0 C to 85 C
Storage Temperature -55 C to +100 C

The aluminum heat spreaders are really great and nice color as well. The Kingston HyperX Genesis is expensive but the performance difference is not much as expected in the reall life performance. The build quality is great and consistent performance. Dual option XMP profile is nice for user to chose the frequency for memory with the life time warranty, Kingston HyperX Genesis is a great memory.

  • 2x XMP profiles, settings for frequency of memory.
  • Nice Overall Performance.
  • Good heat Spreaders.
  • Lifetime Warranty.
  • Consistent performance and Reliable.

  • A little bit expensive.
  • Performance is not improved much as price.

G.Skill Ares 1866Mhz 16GB Review + BenchMarks

Some of us want to have as much RAM as their system supports as with x79 they would go with 64GB but many people want to have a decent amount of memory in their system like me, 16 GB of RAM is enough. More RAM is always better to have but only if you are able to use it, for example we play games and none of the latest Directx11 games take more than 6 GB RAM while running. The 16 GB kit is really affordable for those people as the prices of RAMs are very low. G.Kill is a famous brand because of their fast memories and reliability. Today we are going to take a look at G.Skill Ares 1866MHz 16 GB kit.

G.Skill Ares 1866MHz have solid sky blue colored aluminum heat spreaders for dealing with heat and they look really awesome to me. As every one want the fastest memories in their system and mostly people think that fastest memories make their system faster as well but this does not work as they expect. Faster RAM only increase the system performance a little which is almost ignore able to me. The new Intel Ivy Bridge processor provides good support for high frequency RAMs so every brand is launching their high frequency RAMs I market as well.  G.Skill Ares has 1866 Mhz with 16GB of great space for every kind of task either its heavy video editing or photo editing of extreme gaming.

Specifications:

Type DDR3
Voltage 1.5
Speed Spec PC3-14900
Frequency 1866MHz
Kit Type Dual Channel
Module Size 8GB
tCL 10
tRCD 11

The G.Skill Ares 1866MHz has great attractive design and heat spreaders are good enough to handle the heat. Performance is consistent but not as good as other 1866 mhz memories and its XMP profile need some improvements as it specifies 1778 mhz @ 10-12-10-31 timings. G.Skill Ares 1866MHz  has low price but If you are looking for a 16GB kit for a mid-level performance then get the G.Kill Ares 1866 Mhz 16 GB and if you want the best and fastest then I would suggest you to consider some other RAM.

  • Nice attractive Design.
  • Decent Performance.
  • Great capacity per module, 8GB/ module.
  • Good heat spreaders.
  • Lifetime Warranty.

  • XMP profile specifies 1778 mhz instead of 1866 mhz.
  • Problem with timings.
  • Slower in performance than other 1866 mhz Memories.
