G.Skill Ares 1866Mhz 16GB Review + BenchMarks

Some of us want to have as much RAM as their system supports as with x79 they would go with 64GB but many people want to have a decent amount of memory in their system like me, 16 GB of RAM is enough. More RAM is always better to have but only if you are able to use it, for example we play games and none of the latest Directx11 games take more than 6 GB RAM while running. The 16 GB kit is really affordable for those people as the prices of RAMs are very low. G.Kill is a famous brand because of their fast memories and reliability. Today we are going to take a look at G.Skill Ares 1866MHz 16 GB kit.

G.Skill Ares 1866MHz have solid sky blue colored aluminum heat spreaders for dealing with heat and they look really awesome to me. As every one want the fastest memories in their system and mostly people think that fastest memories make their system faster as well but this does not work as they expect. Faster RAM only increase the system performance a little which is almost ignore able to me. The new Intel Ivy Bridge processor provides good support for high frequency RAMs so every brand is launching their high frequency RAMs I market as well.  G.Skill Ares has 1866 Mhz with 16GB of great space for every kind of task either its heavy video editing or photo editing of extreme gaming.

The G.Skill Ares 1866MHz has great attractive design and heat spreaders are good enough to handle the heat. Performance is consistent but not as good as other 1866 mhz memories and its XMP profile need some improvements as it specifies 1778 mhz @ 10-12-10-31 timings. G.Skill Ares 1866MHz  has low price but If you are looking for a 16GB kit for a mid-level performance then get the G.Kill Ares 1866 Mhz 16 GB and if you want the best and fastest then I would suggest you to consider some other RAM.

  • Nice attractive Design.
  • Decent Performance.
  • Great capacity per module, 8GB/ module.
  • Good heat spreaders.
  • Lifetime Warranty.

  • XMP profile specifies 1778 mhz instead of 1866 mhz.
  • Problem with timings.
  • Slower in performance than other 1866 mhz Memories.
