Nowadays the war between the top brands is at high level in the notebook/ultrabook market and every one is launching their best products in the market so ACER is also launching their great notebooks/ultrabook and ACER is good brand kwon for its quality build and reliable notebooks. Today we take a look at Acer Aspire 1830T TimelineX. Aspire TimelineX 1830T is thin and light (only 1.37kg), and it looks nice. The battery slots into the spine of the laptop between the screen's hinges, so there is lots of unused space between the keyboard and the screen. It's the only design that could have been implemented to keep the notebook's profile thin. At its thickest point, the Aspire TimelineX 1830T is only 28mm. On the other end, the palm rest is a little too small, it's only 48mm deep, which means that the touchpad is also very small, only 67x36mm.We're not fans of the Aspire's keyboard, which is a little bouncy and has keys that are too flat and too stiff. We wish the keys were softer, as we made plenty of typos while writing this review. The combination of the hard keys and the small touchpad makes the Aspire TimelineX 1830T a little awkward to use, and it's by no means comfortable to type on for prolonged periods of time, in fact it can be tiring. The 11.6in screen of the Aspire 1830T has a resolution of 1366x768 and a glossy finish. It's prone to reflections and a little hard to use in very well lit areas unless the brightness is maximised. But overall it's decent for reading documents and viewing web pages. A matte screen would be welcomed on this model.Three USB 2.0 ports, HDMI-out, Bluetooth 3.0, and Windows 7 Home Premium round out an attractive feature set for an ultraportable this small. Really, other than an optical drive, this 11.6-incher lacks nothing. That's great news for those who need this system to act as their primary laptop, rather than as a satellite.Acer has other versions of the TimelineX 1830T with Core i3 and i5 ULV processors at about $599+ for the Core i3 and $700+ for the Core i5 version, and the Core i7-680UM dual-core ULV in this laptop is the high end of the product line. It's a similar but even better-performing CPU to what we saw in the Core i7 Dell Alienware M11x. However, it shouldn't be confused with a standard-voltage Core i7; this one operates at roughly half the system speed, although Intel's Turbo Boost technology can increase the CPU speed up to 2.53GHz at the expense of battery life. It is, however, a far better ULV processor than the Core i3 ULV CPU, providing an experience that comes pretty close to what you'd experience on a standard-voltage mainstream processor. Streaming-video playback, multitasking, and everyday office tasks fly on the 1830T-68U118.1830T's 11.6-inch display has a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, which is pretty standard for screens this size. That means less scrolling when viewing web pages or documents than when using a netbook, and that you can view high-definition content in 720p. The screen is bright, too. When watching High Fidelity on Hulu, we enjoyed fairly good colors—reds were a little muted—and deep blacks; three people view the screen comfortably sitting side by side. However, the glossy finish created distracting reflections. The 1810T's speakers, located on the underside of the deck's front lip, were fine for a small notebook (lack of bass notwithstanding), but their placement caused sound to be muffled while the notebook was in our lap. When the notebook was placed on a hard surface.Aspire 1830T is fairly standard for a modern netbook or 11-inch ultraportable notebook. Acer gives you three USB 2.0 ports, HDMI-out, VGA, LAN, and audio jacks. It also features a SDHC-card slot for expanding internal storage or just loading images off your camera while traveling. Since we're starting to see USB 3.0 on more consumer notebooks and there are many USB 3.0 external hard drives on the market.greater processing power of the 1830T means that users will see less endurance compared to previous generation Timelines. On the LAPTOP Battery Test this laptop lasted 411 minutes. That's not bad at all.The Intel WiFi Link 1000AGN 802.11a/b/g/draft-n Wi-Fi throughput of 35.5 Mbps at 15 feet from our access point was comfortably above the category average (25.4 Mbps). Its throughput of 19.2 Mbps from 50 feet was barely above the average of 18.8 Mbps.Over all its a good note book from ACER as Acer Aspire 1830T Timeline X, its a TimelineX series notebook and CPU performs good.
