Acer Aspire S7-191 Review + BenchMarks

The world has been changed very fast because of the technology and keeps changing. The life of the human has become very fast and their no time to waste especially for the businessmen and students. Due to this fastness, people do not want to sit in front of desk and work and neither they want to carry weight with them which feels hard to carry so the very thin and light weight laptops a.k.a. ultrabooks are famous today. They are fast enough and ultra-light weight to carry with anywhere. Acer been known for its innovative and build quality laptops and today we are going to review an Acer ultrabook which is Acer Aspire S7-191.

Acer Aspire S7-191 is very thin as a 11.6” ultrabook and the body has been made with aluminum which helps to keep the weight low and provide the required strength to the body. This aluminum sweetheart is just of 2.2 pounds which is even less than the popular MacBook air and Sony Vaio duo as well. The brush surface of lid is really cool to watch and touch and the nice gorilla glass of display seems to be very attractive and make Acer Aspire S7-191 more attractive and beautiful.  The cross hatch patterns of the lid look really nice and the power button has been shift to the left side which looks good but I think on the left side, there are more chances for miss press and it happen first time when I take it in hands and place it on the table while unboxing

Acer installs a nice 11.6” touchscreen, IPS panel display with the resolution of 1920x1080 which is really great idea to attract the people. That is good to see because some manufacturers as ASUS uses TN-LED panel displays in its newer laptop which has problems with dark color and viewing angle while Acer stick with better performer IPS panel displays and the 1080p resolution is also a plus point and its more than the resolution of MacBook Air . The problem with the display is just the brightness which is not good and that really disappoints me and the reflection is also disappointing as well. Overall I am not satisfied from display.

Acer Aspire S7-191 has a keyboard of decent size made with aluminum with the blue backlight which is just O.K as I like the green or red backlight of keyboards. The size of the keys is decent and does not affect the typing speed but the dedicated function keys are not available. The keyboard keys may cause problem to people who like fast typing but it may resolve after some time. The typing speed cannot be affected by these factors. The touchpad is not large but still usable for everyone as its just 11.6” ultrabook so you can’t expect to have a large touchpad and the touch is very slick in my opinion. The multi gestures support is really good and it does not miss a touch during the tests. The buttons are integrated and perform good. Overall it has good touch pad.

The speakers are same as in its bigger brother and the audio quality is good but the bass lacks some time, we play some songs and does not feel any bigger problem as they are Dolby certified speaker and a utility software has been installed in Acer Aspire S7-191 for tweaking. Overall speakers are nice.

The Acer Aspire S7-191 runs very quiet in the normal usage tests but it produces noise when it take some load but the pitch of sound is more than some other ultrabooks. The temperature remain very low in the normal usage test but the bottom surface heats up when the ultrabook runs under stress for about half an hour which is not to worry aspect as you are not going to do heavy video editing stuff all the time on it.

Acer Aspire S7-191 has fast wifi and Bluetooth 4.0 for high speed communication. Ethernet connection is available by using the USB-to-Ethernet adaptor only as it has no Ethernet port which is not good to me. Acer Aspire S7-191 has a headset, 1x USB 3.0 and a card reader on the right side while on the left side, it has AC-jack for power adaptor, 1x USB 3.0 and power button. On the rear it has only HDMI port for high resolution display/projector connection. Acer Aspire S7-191 is very thin so there is no optical drive is installed but that is usual for an ultra slim notebook. Overall I am satisfied as far as connectivity of Acer Aspire S7-191 is concern.

The battery life of Acer Aspire S7-191 is very nice. The Acer Aspire S7-191 runs about  463 minutes in our battery test. We run some applications as Microsoft word, Adobe photo shop for some photo editing and we also watch HD videos as well as play audio songs while typing and internet surfing via WiFi connection etc. to get the most realistic results.

The Acer Aspire S7-191 is a good ultrabook with very nice aluminum body which is really attractive and the nice brushed surface of lid is cool. The Acer Aspire S7-191 perform good in BenchMarks and runs cool under normal stress work and quiet as well. The display has great 1080p resolution and good viewing angels as well but it also has problem with brightness and reflection. The speakers are good but bass lack some times. It offers good connectivity options but no LAN port which is not good to me. Overall Acer Aspire S7-191 is a good ultrabook but not the very good or great.
