Fujitsu LifeBook A512 Review + BenchMarks

Notebooks have become a very important for daily life today and we done most of the hard work on the notebook which not only saves our time but the cost as well. When I bought my notebook, the thing which comes in my mind was the processor and battery life and in my opinion these are two basic things which a notebook must have i.e. latest and performer. Today we are going to review Fujitsu LifeBook A512 Notebook.

The LifeBook A512 family is a series of affordable office notebooks with 15.6-inch screens. The various models are suitable for both home and business users. Fujitsu has positioned the A512 series in a notebook segment filled with countless devices from a number of manufacturers. Fujitsu LifeBook A512 has a solid black surface which is made with the nice smooth plastic. The design is quite nice and it looks like performance notebook. The base is of black plastic and surrounded by silver plastic frames to give it a more professional look, to me it is a good idea. The case looks to be solidly build and quality of build can be feel as you take this notebook in your hands. The lid is very stable and it does not offer to twist as little and its good for any notebook. Overall Fujitsu LifeBook A512 has a nice design.

Fujitsu LifeBook A512 has 15.6 inch 16:9 TN LED, Samsung 156AT05-701 display which has the resolution of 1366x768 which is good for this kind of notebook with the very reasonable price. The brightness is pretty much decent and its enough for this kind of notebook but the contrast is very poor and that is the main problem we see in the display of Fujitsu LifeBook A512. The display is not able to be user with sRGB color as well. The matte surface display has enough ability for the outdoor usage of Fujitsu LifeBook A512 and we have no problem to use it while sitting on a bench in the park. The viewing angle stability is just what we expected at this price level. A change in the vertical angle quickly leads to image alterations. The horizontal angles are far more generous but when you bought this lower mid level notebook than you have to compromises with some things.

Fujitsu LifeBook A512 has a decent keyboard when it comes to the size of keys and it has a classic flat keyboard which has the Num-Lock key as well. The color theme is solid black and its quite match with the overall design. The keyboard has just the small arrows keys which are needed to be a little bit larger in size as some people may have difficulties when they navigate into the OS by arrow keys. Well the touchpad is not large, nor smaller in size. It is of decent medium size touchpad and the buttons are not integrated into the surface as most of the latest notebooks had but Fujitsu goes the opposite way. The touchpad also supports multi touch gesture functionality. We found no problem what so ever with the response of both the touchpad and the button at all. Overall Fujitsu LifeBook A512 has nice keyboard and touchpad.

The stereo speakers of the LifeBook are located above the keyboard, beneath a mesh cover. They have a thin and tinny sound with poor bass, but movie dialogue is easy to understand. The sound can be adjust a bit with the help of the pre-installed Realtek HD Audio manager.Overall the Fujitsu LifeBook A512 has good speakers.

Fujitsu LifeBook A512 runs very cool and when the notebook was in idle mode, the temperatures both on the surface and the around the keyboard and inside are quite low and when the notebook was under stress, the Fujitsu LifeBook A512 remain cool than the usual level and that is a very nice thing to use notebook on lap. The noise of the fan remains very low and sometimes the fan fully turns off and when the notebook was under stress, the noise produced by the fan was loud but under the acceptable level and that is good for this kind of notebook.

Fujitsu LifeBook A512 has all the communication options except USB 3.0. It has VGA, Ethernet port, HDMI, 2x USB 3.0 ports on the left side and on the right side, it has AC-in, 1x USB 3.0 port, Kingston lock and the optical drive. It has a Express Card slot and two audio ports at the front. Fujitsu LifeBook A512 has Bluetooth 4.0 and Wifi of “N/B/G” band for high speed communication. Overall Fujitsu LifeBook A512 has all the options for connectivity except high speed USB 3.0.

Fujitsu LifeBook A512  has 48 Wh Lithium-Ion battery which lasts for about 370 minutes which is very great for this lower mid level notebook. We run pretty much all the application and task as Microsoft Office, typing, watching HD movie, audio songs, internet surfing via wifi etc. to get the most accurate result as in real life. Overall Dell Latitude 6430u has very good battery life.

Fujitsu LifeBook A512 has good design and build with solid quality as well. It has all the communication option except USB 3.0 and the battery life of Fujitsu LifeBook A512   is very nice (370 minutes) which is great for this lower mid level notebook. The notebook has decent display, speakers and nice keyboard and touchpad , the only problem with the display is contrast. It is a good option for people who want a notebook for their daily work and obviously it is not the faster compare to other notebooks (Core i3 based) but not a bad choice at all at this price.
