The notebooks were quite heavy and very thick in the past, there battery lives were also short and they consume much power and give less performance where as the modern notebooks are much thin and light weight to carry around, the had long battery lives and the are more powerful. Acer has its own name is the market and people really trust their notebook. I am also a Acer user and from last 1.2 year, I never had any complain regarding to my Acer Aspire notebook which does all my tasks, all the day. Today we are going to review another Acer notebook which is Acer Aspire TimeLine M3-581PTG.

Acer Aspire TimeLine M3-581PTG has the nice black and grey look with the shiny glossy surface which has been used in almost all the Acer Timeline notebook series. The surface may take the dust easily and the scratches are the real problem for this kind of surface. The color scheme give it a perfect notebook look. The total weigh of Acer Aspire TimeLine M3-581PTG is about 2.33 Kg. The overall body has been made with the metal and the base unit has been made with think black plastic. The screen had good hinges to handle it. Overall the design of Acer Aspire TimeLine M3-581PTG is pretty good.

Acer Aspire TimeLine M3-581PTG has a 15.6 inch display which is basically multi-touch TN LED display panel which offers the resolution of 1366x768 in 16:9. The resolution is good but 1080p would be better with 15.6 inch screen. The display has decent brightness but the problem is that brightness is not consistent across the display and you can easily figure it out. The contrast ratio of the display is pretty decent and the ability to show that color i.e. colors in background in ultra-high resolution images, is also good. The viewing angles of the Acer Aspire TimeLine M3-581PTG are very limited as expected from a TN LED panel display and its not easy to watch a movie with friend and we find it quite difficult to use the notebook outdoor in the park. The multi-touch feature of display is nice and we find it working perfect. Overall Acer Aspire TimeLine M3-581PTG does not have a good display.

The Acer Aspire TimeLine M3-581PTG has pretty large keyboard with the decent size keys except the arrow keys which are smaller in size and the size of arrow keys is very small which may cause problem to some users. There is no backlighting so you do not have the advantage to work in nigh. The key response quite well and we do not find the miss tap problem with the keys. The touch pad of Acer Aspire TimeLine M3-581PTG is large in size and the response is perfect but late, yes, it response late and it become difficult to navigate through touchpad. The touchpad has the multi-touch feature so when we test this feature, we find it working good but due to late response, we do not like the touchpad. Overall Acer Aspire TimeLine M3-581PTG has good keyboard and poor touchpad.

The location of two stereo speaker is front which is not and ideal position for the speakers but Acer Aspire TimeLine M3-581PTG’s speakers done a good job and they produce quite loud sound which is good and the quality of the sound is also pretty good. The base on average level but consistent which is good for any notebook and we do not find any problem with the speakers so Overall Acer Aspire TimeLine M3-581PTG has nice speakers.

The Acer Aspire TimeLine M3-581PTG remains very cool during the idle mode the temperatures around the notebook were quite low when the notebook was in idle mode and the temperature were not high in the stress or load. The notebook can be used easily on the lap and do not had any problem while using it on the lap. The fan of Acer Aspire TimeLine M3-581PTG does produce a bit sound in the idle mode and it was quite audible in the load and it may distract you while doing any work which requires attention. Overall Acer Aspire TimeLine M3-581PTG remain cool but not quiet.

Acer Aspire TimeLine M3-581PTG has Bluetooth 4.0 and wifi for high speed wireless communication and it has card reader and optical drive on the left side, it has only Kingston lock on the right. It has 1x VGA, HDMI, 2x USB 2.0, 1x USB 3.0, audio port, AC-in and Ethernet port on the back side of the notebook. Acer Aspire TimeLine M3-581PTG has all the option which you may need in daily life but 2x USB 3.0 instead of one would make it more attractive regarding connectivity. Overall Acer Aspire TimeLine M3-581PTG has pretty good connectivity options.

Acer Aspire TimelineU M3-581PTG has a 3 Cell lithium-polymer battery of 3 cell which manage to keep Acer Aspire TimelineU M3-581PTG running for about 406 minutes in our battery life test which is nice. We measure battery life by doing the normal tasks as a normal user is going to do on his/ her notebook, for example, typing while listening audio songs, watching HD movie/ clips, surfing web via Wifi, MS-Office work etc. to get the most realistic result. Overall Acer Aspire TimelineU M3-581PTG has great battery life.
