The notebooks have played an important role in the daily life of anyone either a businessman or student or someone else who do not want to be a slave of desktop machine. The notebooks are still in talk as many manufacturers introduce new technology in their notebooks as ASUS includes Thunderbolt port in their notebooks and Apple use the IPS screen in their MacBooks before anyone else. ASUS decide to use the aluminum for the case and they made almost all the case with the aluminum and that gives the ASUS Pro B43V-CU024X a perfect notebook looks. The case is not very good regarding to build quality and the corner are well finished. The soft areas are not well covered and we found problematic softness in the case of ASUS Pro B43V-CU024X. The Black color scheme with a little silver shading give it gaming notebook looks as it is a mid-level gaming notebook. The lid has been made very efficiently and ASUS do not give any chance for complaints due to bending of the lid. The ASUS Pro B43V-CU024X has been built quite well and that can be feel with the strength of hinges which can handle the display very well and you have to use both hands to open the lid which is good. Overall ASUS Pro B43V-CU024X has very good design but build quality is inconsistent.
The ASUS Pro B43V-CU024X has 14 inch TN LED display panel which offers the resolution of 1600x900 i.e. HD+ so it is good to have HD+ resolution on a 14 inch display but I am worried about display because I had bad experience with TN LED displays so let see. The display has a inconsistent brightness which is a problem especially for the professionals. The image quality is good and the contrast ratio of the display is also good but inconsistent all around the display especially near to left top and bottom corners. The viewing angles are limited as other TN LED panel displays had so its a bit difficult to work outdoor in daylight so Overall ASUS Pro B43V-CU024X has good display for this price level.
The ASUS Pro B43V-CU024X has large keyboard as a 14 inch notebook, obviously there is no numpad but the keys are large and these rectangle shaped keys with smooth surface and good resistance make the typing very accurate and much comfortable as possible. The keyboard has no backlighting so working in night is not ideal. The key stroke is also pretty decent and we found no issue with the keyboard. The touchpad is also of decent size and it has multi-gesture feature as well. The buttons are not integrated and separated by a line so you can easily use them as wanted. The touchpad has nice surface and help for gliding the fingers. The touchpad done well in our tests and keys are also good to use so Overall ASUS Pro B43V-CU024X has nice keyboard and touchpad.
ASUS goes with the specialist for the audio solution for their ASUS Pro B43V-CU024X notebooks and they choose the “Alted-Lansing” as logo on notebook and mention on ASUS’s website so the speakers done decently good but not as good as expected. The sound quality was inconsistent but the max volume level was high and the base was also inconsistent. The use of external speakers is recommended for better performance so Overall ASUS Pro B43V-CU024X has a bit lower level speakers than expected.
The ASUS Pro B43V-CU024X has pretty many low temperatures all around the notebook which is quite good in idle mode and ASUS has been known for their cool notebook these days as they manage the notebook with better cooling solutions. The notebook runs cool in idle mode the temps in the load were also a bit low than most notebooks. The fan produces low noise in idle mode and turn off completely some times which is very good. The noise of fan under load was also a bit lower than mostly notebook so Overall ASUS Pro B43V-CU024X runs cool and quiet in idle and under load.
The ASUS Pro B43V-CU024X has Bluetooth 4.0 and the latest “N” band support (External) with 300 Mbps connectivity speed. The ASUS Pro B43V-CU024X has a Wifi switch, standard card reader and smart card reader on the front side and it has 1x USB 2.0, VGA, AC-in, audio ports, 1x eSATA/ USB 2.0 port and display port on the left side. It has 1x USB 3.0, HDMI, Ethernet port, optical drive and Kingston lock on the right side, it has nothing on the back/ rear. I like to have atleast 2x USB 3.0 ports in my notebook and display port does not matter for me in presence of HDMI and VGA so Overall ASUS Pro B43V-CU024X has good connectivity options.
The ASUS Pro B43V-CU024X has a Lithium-ion battery of 61.6 watts which manage to keep it running for about 303 minutes in our battery life test which is good for this price range notebooks. We measure battery life by doing the normal tasks as a normal user is going to do on his/ her notebook, for example, typing while listening audio songs, watching HD movie/ clips, surfing web via Wifi, MS-Office work etc. to get the most realistic result. Overall ASUS Pro B43V-CU024X has top class battery life.
The ASUS Pro B43V-CU024X has some good things and some bad things, it has good keyboard and touchpad and good connectivity option with all the necessary connectivity ports are available. The speakers produce inconsistent quality sound. The design is quite good but the build quality is inconsistent. The display is also not ideal for outdoor work as we find it quite difficult. The battery life is good (303 minutes). It runs cool and quiet in both idle mode and under load.
