Notebooks become a very useful thing these days and people of all professions need to have a notebook for their daily personal and official work. Girls like their notebook stylish as they want and change it as well when they want so Sony Vaio has been famous for its stylish and much customizable notebooks. Sony Vaio notebooks are also known for their extra batteries so you get almost all the things with your Vaio notebook. I, myself really like the Sony Vaio notebooks because of their style and multiple color options. The student especially girl and the businessmen like the Sony Vaio notebooks. Today we are going to review a Sony Vaio SV notebook which is Sony Vaio SV-T1511M1E.
Sony Vaio SV-T1511M1E has the same rigid cases as we have already seen in some of their notebooks and it became common and that a good thing. The lid’s back and the all-around the notebook, there is brushed aluminum surface. The whole silver looks give it the perfect notebook looks. Sony Vaio SV-T1511M1E is light weight (2.236 Kg) as well as slim as much as possible than many of other competitor notebooks. The overall body has quite stiffness which is good and bad, depend upon your thinking but I personally do not like it. They are not quite well finished as you can easily see that when you take the notebook in your hands. The hinges are good and strong enough for the display. Overall Sony Vaio SV-T1511M1E has nice design.
Sony Vaio SV-T1511M1E has a 15.6 inch TN LED multi touch display panel which offers the max resolution of 1920x1080 which is good for any 15.6 inch display and the display is basically a glossy display and we had some bad experiences with TN LED Glossy displays in many previous review so lets see…. . The Sony Vaio SV-T1511M1E’s display has good brightness level and the contrast ratio is also good for this kind of notebook and we had no problem while working on it in park except reflection. The reflection is bit disturbing while doing some office work. The viewing angles of the display is are not good as expected and if you want the best than choose some IPS display notebooks. The working outdoor is difficult because of reflection and the viewing angles. Overall Sony Vaio SV-T1511M1E has decent display but not as good as it had to be…..
Sony Vaio SV-T1511M1E has large size keyboard including the numpad for the users to type easily. The notebook has basically Chiclet style keyboard with large size keys and the key space is also enough from typing prospective. The keyboard looks good for typing and when we start our typing test, we find it quite difficult because of poor response and feedback from the keys. The miss tap happen many times which is not good for any kind of typing. The key stroke and the pressure points are also not ideal for typing accurately with speed. The touchpad is also quite large touch pad which is click pad as a modern name. It does not have separate keys for click as its whole a click able touchpad so you don’t need the keys with it. The response of the touch is pretty good and we like it and its good multi gesture working as well. Overall Sony Vaio SV-T1511M1E has nice touchpad and poor keyboard.
Sony Vaio SV-T1511M1E has two stereo speaker above the keyboard which produce the sound of decent quality and the max volume is not as high as expected but the base is completely missing and there is no consistency regarding to the quality of sound and you can easily feel that when you watch a movie with few friends in a room. We recommend the external speakers for better performance especially when watching movies with friends.
The Sony Vaio SV-T1511M1E remains quite cool in the idle mode and we run all the tasks ( normal tasks ) during the idle tests as typing and the temperatures remain quite cool all around the notebook. The max temps i.e. temperatures of the notebooks in the full load ( BenchMarks ) was quite acceptable and there is no harm to use Sony Vaio SV-T1511M1E o the lap while doing all kind of tasks. The fan of Sony Vaio SV-T1511M1E produce quite low noise during the idle tasking but it turns off some times and the noise produce by the fan was high and consistent during the stress test. Overall Sony Vaio SV-T1511M1E remains cool but not quiet in our test.
The Sony Vaio SV-T1511M1E has latest Bluetooth 4.0 and Wifi for high speed wireless communication. It has a 1x USB 3.0, VGA, Ethernet port, HDMI, audio port and AC-in on the left and on the right side, it has 2x USB 2.0 and optical drive while on the rear and front side, it has nothing as it is slim. The Sony Vaio SV-T1511M1E should have atleast 2x USB 3.0 port but 1x USB 3.0 may be enough for some people but I like 2x USB 3.0 at least. Overall Sony Vaio SV-T1511M1E has all the connectivity options.
The Sony Vaio SV-T1511M1E has a 43 watts Lithium-ion battery which is not quite expected as we were expecting a non-removable battery so its good to have a removable battery. The battery manage to keep it running for about 283 minutes during our test and it good for any notebook. We run all the task which a normal user is going to run for example, we do typing while listening audio songs, playing HD movie/ Clips, MS-Office work, a little gaming and surfing web via Wifi etc. to get the most realistic results according to the real life.
The Sony Vaio SV-T1511M1E is quite decent notebook which offers all the latest connectivity option and it has nice touchpad and decent multi touch display of 1080p. It runs cool enough to be used on the lap while doing any kind of work. The keyboard is not good and it produce louder noise while doing some heavy work as video editing. The speakers are decent but not as good as expected so overall it has some good things and bad things and you have to decide on which thing, you are ready to compromise, obviously it depends upon your budget and needs.
