The  notebook are very common to use but the main problem is that we are unable to determine our needs/ requirements and the second thing is that, people are unable to choose a perfect choice according to their budget. Some of my friends had that bad experience as well and when they purchase their notebook without doing research, they disappoint with the performance of their notebooks. Acer is a well-known brand for its great build quality and decent looking notebooks so today we are going to review an Acer notebook which is Acer TravelMate P273-M.

The Acer TravelMate P273-M has a slightly different design and the color scheme is a bit black and there is some dark-grey color has also been used in making small circle especially on the back of the lid and palm-rest area as well. The bottom side has matte surface which is made with dark plastic as usual. The build quality is good but not much consistent as we found the lid a bit soft and we were able to twist it easily with normal pressure. The other usual soft areas like top of the optical drive and middle of keyboard are not present in the case of Acer TravelMate P273-M except we found the top left corner of the keyboard a bit soft. The hinges are also not much strong as expected to handle the display screen well. The people who are allergic to finger print on the notebooks are gonna be in trouble again if they bought Acer TravelMate P273-M because its surface can easily take-up the finger prints. Overall Acer TravelMate P273-M has decent build quality but inconsistent.

The Acer TravelMate P273-M has 17.3 inch display panel which is basically TN LED screen offering max 1600x900 resolution. We had some bad experience with the TN LED display. The display of Acer TravelMate P273-M has quite good brightness as compared to its price. The contrast ratio of Acer TravelMate P273-M is also pretty good and its best than the its competitor notebooks we have test so far. The image quality of the display is pretty nice and we are really pleased to see these good results. The horizontal viewing angles and vertical viewing angles are not good i.e. they are very limited. The display can be used outdoor but only from ideal front position. Overall Acer TravelMate P273-M has decent display screen compared to its price.

The Acer TravelMate P273-M has full size keyboard with numpad as well. The keys are of pretty large size. The keys had black matte surface and the key stroke is pretty good and the pressure points are just right for accurate typing. The special keys are not present but still user can use FN key with combination of F1-F8 and arrow keys for different work. The keyboard is good for accurate fast typing and we never had any problem with the keyboard during 2 days of our tests. The touchpad is of pretty decent size and the click keys are visible on surface but they are not separate visibly by any line. The touchpad has multi-touch feature as well. This can configure latter in windows 8. The touchpad also done well in our test. Overall Acer TravelMate P273-M has good keyboard and touchpad.

The Acer TravelMate P273-M has two stereo speakers which are located behind the display and Acer is the manufacturer of the audio solution instead of consulting any specialist for audio solution for their notebook as ASUS, HP, Dell did. The speakers had good sound quality and the base is also pretty decent. The max volume level is quite high for watching a movie with few friends in a room. Overall the speakers of Acer TravelMate P273-M are pretty good.

The Acer TravelMate P273-M has a bit more than of usual level temperatures in the idle mode as is not dangerous but not as good as it had to be in idle mode, still working on lap is possible in the idle mode. The temperatures on the surface and sides increase rapidly during load scenario and its not ok for the working on the lap and we recommend to do not use it on the lap. The fan of Acer TravelMate P273-M produce pretty low noise in the idle tasking and it turn off some times as well. The noise was still ignorable in the load condition but if you want to decrease it than using an SSD would surely decrease than noise a bit. Overall Acer TravelMate P273-M runs cool and quiet.

The Acer TravelMate P273-M has all the necessary connectivity feature except Bluetooth so wireless connectivity depend upon on Wifi only and you can’t connect you mobile phone via Bluetooth unless you but an external Bluetooth adaptor. The v Acer TravelMate P273-M has Ethernet port, VGA, Kingston lock, HDMI, 2x USB 3.0 on the left side and on the right side, it has 1x USB 2.0, 2x audio ports, AC-in and optical drive. It has card reader on the front. Overall Acer TravelMate P273-M has all the connectivity options except Bluetooth.

The Acer TravelMate P273-M has 6 Cell; Lithium-ion based battery of 48 watts which manage to keep it running for about 246 minutes during our battery life test which is pretty good. We measure the battery life while running the task which a normal users is going to run on their notebook as Microsoft Office Work, Typing while listening audio songs, surfing web via Wifi, copy file from HDD to HDD and from optical drive, photo editing etc. to get the result which apply to real life instead of running any battery life benchmarks which are far away from real life scenarios. Overall Acer TravelMate P273-M has good battery life of 246 minutes.

The Acer TravelMate P273-M is a pretty good notebook as compare to its competitor and price. The Acer TravelMate P273-M has pretty good things as good battery life of 246 minutes and decent display screen with good image quality. The wide range of connectivity options except Bluetooth. The keyboard and touchpad are pretty good as well and really top class speakers for this price range. The notebook runs quiet. The Acer TravelMate P273-M has few cons as well like display is not suitable for outdoor working from sides. The viewing angles are limited and Bluetooth is not available. The lid is softness so it can be bent a little by applying normal pressure so final decision is dependent on your budget and requirement. Contact us for any advice.
