ASUS is a well famous brand for its quality built, solid performer products including their attractive and performer notebooks. As ASUS starting to build notebooks many years ago, people have more options for their requirements and budget. Today we are going to review an Samsung notebook which is Samsung Series 5 530U4E.

The Samsung Series 5 530U4E with a slim case gives a good first impression and as we know, 1st impression is last impression so there is no doubt “Samsung Series 5 530U4E is attractive”. The case is slim and the total weight of the Samsung Series 5 530U4E is about 1.82 Kg which is pretty decent for a ultrabook. The Samsung Series 5 530U4E has good as it has been made with aluminum and the brushed aluminum surface gives it a good look. The color scheme is grey-black which looks pretty good. There are some soft areas especially on the bottom unit. The hinges are pretty strong to handle the notebook’s display screen. The lid also has some softness as it can be bent a little by normal pressure. Overall Samsung Series 5 530U4E has pretty decent design but inconsistent build quality.

The Samsung Series 5 530U4E has a 14.0 inch TN LED display screen and we had some bad experiences with this kind of display screens. The display of Samsung Series 5 530U4E has a pretty standard brightness which is enough to work in sunlight. The contrast ratio of the display is not as good as expected. The image quality of the display is inconsistent and it is not good to professionals as normal user very hardly need it. The TN LED display screen have very limited viewing angles as we had experiences but the Samsung Series 5 530U4E’s display screen has that same legacy, both vertical and horizontal viewing angles are pretty limited and we face much problem to watch movies with friends. The display is somehow make it possible to be used outdoor but due to limited viewing angles, you can’t view the things on screen unless you sit in front of screen. Overall Samsung Series 5 530U4E has lower than standard level display for a normal user.

The Samsung Series 5 530U4E has a 14 inch case so keyboard does not have numpad. The keys are of pretty decent size and you can’t complaint about that unless you have fat fingers. The keyboard is basically Chiclet style keyboard and it has no backlighting so working in night would be a bit difficult. The keys have rubber coating which makes the sliding pretty decent and with the good key stroke and feedback we found the keyboard of Samsung Series 5 530U4E quite good. The touchpad is pretty large for a 14 inch notebook. The touchpad is clickpad as there are no visible click buttons so you can use the while touchpad as clickpad. The surface is pretty suitable for finger sliding and the multi-touch gesture feature is really great and we really enjoy the performance of touchpad in multi-gesture test. Overall Samsung Series 5 530U4E has pretty good keyboard and touchpad.

The Samsung Series 5 530U4E has decided to go with the American audio expert company which has work with Lenovo and ASUS in past. The JBL is really great as their audio solutions are very good. The speakers of Samsung Series 5 530U4E are of JBL and they are located on the bottom side which is not a good position for speakers. The speaker of Samsung Series 5 530U4E’s speakers has good sound quality and max volume level which is pretty good. The speakers has pretty nice base so the speakers really pleased us. Overall Samsung Series 5 530U4E has very nice speakers.

The Samsung Series 5 530U4E runs really cool and the temperatures on the surface and all around the notebook were quite low while the idle mode and they remains well under the danger level even in the load time. The fan of the Samsung Series 5 530U4E produce really much low noise during the idle working and they completely turn-off sometimes which is good. The fan of Samsung Series 5 530U4E produce loud noise as it has AMD graphics but the noise level was still unable to distract me. Overall Samsung Series 5 530U4E runs cool and quiet.

The Samsung Series 5 530U4E has almost all the connectivity options those a good ultrabook should have. The Samsung Series 5 530U4E has Bluetooth 4.0 and Latest Wifi module for high speed wireless communication. The Samsung Series 5 530U4E has AC-in, 1x USB 3.0, Ethernet port, HDMI, 1x audio port and VGA (connected via adaptor) on the left side and on the right side, it has Kingston lock, 2x USB 3.0 and card reader. Overall Samsung Series 5 530U4E has all the connectivity options which are possible for a ultrabook i.e. no optical drive.

The Samsung Series 5 530U4E has a 4 cell, Lithium-ion based battery of 57 watts which manage to keep Samsung Series 5 530U4E running for about 512 minutes which is great for a notebook to keep running. We test the battery life by doing all the tasks as normal users gonna do, for example we run Microsoft Office work i.e. typing while listening audio songs. Watching HD movie/ Video clips, surfing web via Wifi, Photo editing, some gaming etc. to get the most realistic results which are more near to real life. Overall Samsung Series 5 530U4E has great, longer battery life.

The Samsung Series 5 530U4E is really a good notebook for daily users who do not need much details of images to be displayed. The Samsung Series 5 530U4E can do gaming and video editing easily as it has 3rd Gen. Intel Core i5 CPU with AMD Graphics of 2GB. The Samsung Series 5 530U4E has good connectivity options and decent display. It has nice speakers, keyboard and touchpad. The display is not ideal for professional and Samsung Series 5 530U4E has few soft areas on bottom side and lid.
