Dell XPS 15 Review + BenchMark

Dell is doing very well when its come to the notebooks/Laptop lineup and competition with other brands like ASUS,ACER,HP and today when every one want to do every thing on walk they put their best Laptop in the market.Dell XPS 15 is very best laptop and perhaps, best after MacBook PA larger version of the Dell XPS 14 we reviewed recently, this XPS 15 is a similarly solid, slablike laptop with a minimalistic design, but also with plenty of extra features, from a high-res display to Nvidia graphics, making it feel like a truly premium laptop. Our review sample included a quad-core Intel Core i7 CPU and discrete Nvidia GeForce 640M graphics, for $1,699. Other configurations start from $1,299, but I wouldn't want to pay that for a Core i5 laptop.
You can find something close to this particular CPU/GPU combination for less (Hewlett-Packard has a similar Pavilion dv6 for $1,200), but here you get the premium design, the build quality, and the premium support service Dell offers with XPS systems.ro (Ratina Display) 2012.Dell XPS 15 is an high end
machine which is an Desktop replacement for the most users.laptops for under $1,000 recently that offer up-to-date processors, discrete graphics, and reasonably sharp looks. One alternative worth considering is Dell's updated Inspiron line, including the Inspiron 14z, which can trade up to an Intel Core i7 and midrange AMD graphics for $1,049. It's not as attractive or well-built, but it's a worthwhile alternative if you're looking to save a few hundred dollars.Inside you'll find a magnesium alloy deck with a matte black soft touch finish. This material not only looks cool, it feels comfortable on the wrists when typing. A black, backlit keyboard sits in a slightly recessed area in the center of the deck. The rubberized motif continues on the bottom of the laptop. A gray matte soft touch band sits along the notebook's silicone underside surrounding a black soft touch panel with a small metal panel in the middle.Although the design feels solid and premium, the XPS 15 is relatively hefty. It weighs 6 pounds and measures 14.6 x 9.8 x 0.91 inches. Both the Acer Aspire V3-571G-9435 (0.99-1.3 inches and 5.8 pounds) and the HP Envy 15 (1.1 inches, 5.8 pounds) are thicker but lighter.
Dell XPS 15. Dell configured this system with two USB 3.0 ports, one eSATA/USB 2.0 combo port, gigabit Ethernet, mini-DisplayPort, HDMI-out, and plenty of audio jacks. For expansion, Dell only includes a SDHC-card reader/writer.The Dell XPS 15 features a very comfortable backlit keyboard with a design using traits from standard and Chiclet-style keyboards. The keyboard doesn't feature an internal bezel like most island-style keyboards, but it also has completely flat key surfaces. For typing long documents or even playing a game to blow off steam during a long company meeting, the keyboard does an excellent job. Typing noise is minimal, with each key only emitting a very soft click when pressed. The backlight is adjustable with three settings; off, low, and high. On high, the keys are lighted just enough to see the backlight is on under strong office lighting.
Among premium desktop replacement laptops, the Dell XPS 15 is an above-average contender, with top hardware and solid performance. Unfortunately—especially with such a strong physical resemblance to the MacBook Pro—it can't match Apple's Retina display, Thunderbolt connection, and top-tier operating system. As a result, the Editors' Choice Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch (Retina Display) stays on top, but the Dell XPS 15 takes a close second place with strong performance.Dell xps 15 almost performs as expected.
