AMD Phenom x6 1100T Review + BenchMarks

The processor is the main components of any PC and as the faster processor will be, the PC performs faster as well. People always want to have fastest processor in their PC which also fits into the limits of their budget so they do their homework and make up their mind before going into the market, I am talking about the people who build a mid-level gaming PC. AMD has been the a great CPU brand which provide multi core CPU with the very low cost but from 5-6 pas years, Intel remain at the top and really dominate the CPU market.

AMD is known for multicore cheap CPUs and people who are looking to build a mid-level gaming PC but they have low budget, AMD is the right option for those people. Today we review AMD Phenom x6 1100T CPU which is basically a good CPU with the 6 cores, AMD is stick with their old strategy which is providing more cores with less price. The Phenom x6 1100T has 512k cache for every core with 6MB of shared cache for all cores. It is 45nm based and the old architecture of 2003 has been used which is not a good idea in my opinion. Phenom x6 1100T supports the new DDR3 memory.

The Phenom x6 1100T has the default core clock of 3.3Ghz which is only 100Mhz more than the previous AMD Phenom x6 1090T. Phenom x6 1100T has the turbo clock speed of 3.7Ghz. The Phenom x6 1100T is black edition CPU and the CPU multiplier is unlocked so it can be overclocked as well. The overclocking is best done by tinkering with the CPU multiplier first, then slowly tweaking the reference clock to squeeze every bit of performance out of it that you can. For the 1100T, I started with pushing the CPU multiplier up one multi at a time until I was no longer able to boot and remain stable through benchmarks. Once I reached the limit, I then did the same with the reference clock. Once I lost stability, I then backed off a bit until I was completely free of any instabilities. For the 1100T, I hit the same wall I did with the previous Phenom II X6 1090T. The Phenom II X6 1090T is a good processor which is ideal for low budget PC but the performance is not at satisfactory level and people who are looking for a gaming PC which should perform very best, I would suggest them to go with Intel.

The Phenom II X6 1090T is a good processor for low budget PCs and it performs decently in all the benchmark with the unlock CPU multiplier and supports the DDR3 memory but has the old architecture. The Phenom II X6 1090T has six cores but it does not perform as you can expect from a hexa core CPU. The people who have small budget should get Phenom II X6 1090T for decent performance and low price and obviously it can’t perform like Intel CPUs which are faster than Phenom II X6 1090T but they are expensive as well.

  • Six AMD Cores.
  • AMD Hyper Transport 3.0 technology.
  • Cheap, low cost.
  • Decent Performance.

  • Old Architecture.
  • Unsatisfied memory performance.
  • Not the fast than Intel competitor.
