Notebooks are the most searched topic and most people do some much research especially in America, Canada and other European countries these days. When I ask few people about their ideal notebook, i.e. what are the components or features they want to have in their personal notebooks. They replied me with some expected answers, all of them want their notebook to be faster but light weight and that is the same as my opinion and of most people who like mobility. The notebook is really hot these day and people are buying much more than past. As every brand has introduced its notebooks so competition is very tough among them and that thing cause some good notebooks being launched with less price. ASUS is also famous for its quality build notebooks so today we review another ASUS notebook, ASUS P55VA.

The ASUS P55VA has almost full plastic made body with the black color scheme which gives the notebook a decent look. The body is made by black matte plastic to give it strength alongside less weight for users to carry around. The back of lid is basically textured surface as we have seen on the F55 and the base is also of black plastic as well. The cover is not as good as it has to. It is a bit soft and can be pressed easily which is not a good thing for any notebook. The body is good as far as design is concerned but when it comes to the required solidity, ASUS P55VA does not have that solidity. Overall the case has very few changes than the previous model but they do not improve the problematic areas much as expected.

ASUS P55VA has a classic and typical notebook keyboard with the num pad and the size of keys is decent but the style is too old and its not going in the favor of ASUS P55VA as the keyboard is not a good one and it cause very problem while typing with speed. The lack of good finished to the design of keys is also a minus point and the keyboard bounces in some areas and the keys miss the tap some times which is not a good thing for any notebook. The touch pad is bit large, not large as some gaming notebooks have but larger than its competitors and the keys are integrated into the surface and separated by a small white line on its surface. The touchpad has smooth surface which cause the easy sliding of fingers and they performs very good. Overall ASUS P55VA has good touchpad but poor keyboard.
ASUS P55VA has very tiny stereo speakers which are located under the notebook and it is not a good idea to me because you never listen the sound directly as it come after reflect from the surface so it is not a good idea to me. The volume level is not good at all and the bass is very poor. The audio quality is decent but you can’t properly figure it out in normal circumstances because of the location of speakers. To be honest, I do not like the sound of ASUS P55VA’s speakers.
ASUS P55VA never goes to a problematic temperature level and remain cool and surface around the keyboard and the sides remain quite cool than some of other notebooks of this price range. The temperatures remain under the satisfactory level even when we run some intense application and stress it to its limits. You can use it on the lap while doing any kind of task. The noise produced by the ASUS P55VA is ver low when it was in idle mode and fan runs quiet and slowly but it never turn off during the test and when we run some intense application and benchmarks, the fan runs very louder and the noise produced by it was quite louder than expected and it can easily disturb you while watching a movie which require some attention as documentaries.

ASUS P55VA has wifi of “B/G/N” band and the Bluetooth v 4.0 for high speed wireless connectivity. It has 2x USB 3.0, VGA, HDMI and Ethernet port on the left side and a card reader at the front. It has AC-in, 2x audio ports, 1x USB 2.0 and optical drive on the right side. ASUS P55VA has all the connectivity option available which may needed these days. Overall ASUS P55VA has all the important connectivity options for the users.

ASUS P55VA has 50 watts, 6 cell Li-ion battery which is pretty much same as the previous notebook has and it lasts for about 321 minutes which is good for any notebook. We runs all the applications as a normal users does daily on his notebook, for example Microsoft Office work, typing while listening audio songs, watching HD movies, some gaming and surfing web via Wifi to get the most realistic results. Overall ASUS P55VA has a good battery life.

ASUS P55VA has performs good in our tests and the notebook has good design but body is not solid as it has to so poor build quality. The ASUS P55VA has all the required connectivity options and good battery life and good touch pad as well. The display is decent but keyboard is poor and speakers are not good at all. ASUS P55VA is not as good as it has to be for competing with other notebook of same price range. If i would be at your place than I would consider the other notebooks instead of ASUS P55VA.

- Good performance.
- Good connectivity.
- Good touchpad and Display.
- Good battery life.

- Poor Touchpad.
- Poor Speakers.
- Not better than its competitors.
