The things are changing dramatically in the notebook market as the people are intended to buy the laptops just according to their needs and to do so they are surfing on the web and checking the reviews, I remember when I was willing to buy my 1st notebook, I almost spend a week in checking reviews so we are trying to be as close as possible to our trade mark “No bull shit, just facts” i.e. we were/are/will never post any review (planted) and just post the facts. Today we are going to review a Dell notebook as dell is also fame in notebooks market and its one of the old manufacturers; today we are going to review Dell Latitude E6530.

Dell Latitude E6530 has very nice metallic design and almost the case is strong but around the optical drive and battery, its not as good as it has to be. The total weight of Dell Latitude E6530 is about 2.8 kg which is usual for this kind of notebooks. The aluminum brushed surface and black solid metallic surface give it typical Dell notebook looks. The screen has been controlled by the hinges which are good enough to deal with this. The Dell Latitude E6530 has a good built design if we ignore the weakness around the optical drive and battery. Overall the surface give a nice looks and the design will let you feel that solidity which is important but still there are some flaws in the case. Overall Dell Latitude E6530 has good design.

Dell Latitude E6530 has 15.6 inch LG LP TN Display panel which offers the max resolution of 1920x1080 which is quite useful for the 15+ inch notebook these days. The user can chose display when purchasing either 720p or HD+ or 1080p which we had with Dell Latitude E6530.  The display had nice matter surface and its basically LED backlight display so we expected to perform good. The display has good brightness but not as good as the previous model has and it also has low contrast ratio than the previous notebook. The contrast ratio of Dell Latitude E6530 is very nice and make the picture quality also good and the viewing angles are also nice and with the combination of all these things, its quite possible to work outside in day light and watch movies with friends with any issue. Overall Dell Latitude E6530 has very good display.

Dell Latitude E6530 has very nice keyboard and the overall size of keyboard is large and key are also large as well. The separate num pad is also available and the key stokes, the stroke feedback feel it very nice to write this review and I am pretty much sure that users are going to like the keyboard of Dell Latitude E6530. The keys are impressively responsive and the backlighting make it perfect for the users to type in the day light as well as in the night. The page up/ page down keys are move from numpad to the arrow keys. The touchpad is not as large  as the keyboard but it still has sufficient  area for multi gesture function and the responsiveness of the touchpad is also nice and we had no issue. The separate pointing stick is also available as alternative and it also good but some user may take some time to get used to it. Overall Dell Latitude E6530 has nice large keyboard and touchpad.

Dell Latitude E6530 has two stereo speakers which are located on the front side of the notebook and we think its is good to watch movies with some friends but not idle position for other task or use it on lap. The max volume level is quite high but it destroys the sound quality and the base is completely missing and it does not feels good when you watch movies with friends and I will definitely recommend the external speakers.

Dell Latitude E6530 runs really cool and the temperatures were really low when it was in idle mode as well as in the stress test and we measure very low temperatures in idle mode which makes it a perfect notebook for using on lap as it runs quite cool than many of the other notebook available in the market. The Dell Latitude E6530’s fan does not produce much noise but you can easily figure out loud noise caused by the Seagate HDD which sometimes make the concentration really difficult so I would suggest replacing it with SSD for reducing the noise.

When its about connectivity options, Dell Latitude E6530 offer plenty of them for the user. It has card reader at the font and on the left side, it has 1x USB 3.0, audio jack, VGA, smart card reader while on the right side, it has optical drive, 1x USB 3.0, HDMI, eSATA and on the rear, it has 1x USB 2.0, Ethernet port, Kingston lock and AC-in for the adaptor so it has plenty of connectivity options including Bluetooth 4.0 and wifi for high speed wireless connectivity. Overall Dell Latitude E6530 has all the required connectivity options.

Dell Latitude E6530 has 6 cell lithium-ion battery of 60 watts which does good in our battery life test and lasts for about 374 minutes which is really nice for this kind of notebook. We try to get the most realistic results by measuring battery life doing the normal tasks as Microsoft office work, text/ photo and some gaming as well HD video clips and surfing web via Wifi, which a normal user is going to do on it daily.

Dell Latitude E6530 is a good notebook regarding to its price and competitors at this price level and it has some good thing and some bad ones for example it runs cool and display is nice and HDD in 7200 rpm which offers good performance than other HDDs. It has nice large keyboard and good responsive touchpad. The battery life is really nice and plenty of connectivity options for the users. It has poor speakers and because of 7200 rpm HDD, it runs louder in the stress/ gaming. So when you purchase a notebooks of this price, you have to compromise on some things but if you want everything top class than you have to add more few hundred bucks in your notebook budget.

  • Good display.
