We have review some great ultrabooks and notebooks so far and still we looking for more and yes, it give more traffic to our site as notebooks is a hot search query these days on the Google and people are spending much more money in notebooks than the desktop today as it offers more mobility and comfort of use disrespecting to the place where you want to use it. Intel has made the market into a Gold mine with its “ultra-thin” idea of Ultrabook which is surely everyone’s choice today as they offer more power with less weight to carry. Today we are going to review a HP ultrabook which is HP Spectre XT TouchSmart 15. HP has been at the top in the market from many years but these days, they are having touch competition from ASUS and Acer so we are expecting good results from HP Spectre XT TouchSmart 15 in our tests.
From the top to bottom, HP Spectre XT TouchSmart 15 looks really gorgeous, with its sleek design and nice thin shape with the silver color of its brushed aluminum surface with the special, nice finish touch. The HP Spectre XT TouchSmart 15 will win the battle of attraction if you compare it with any other notebook. The body is made by aluminum to provide more mobility regarding to weight and the required solidity. The HP Spectre XT TouchSmart 15. The lid’s back is also made with aluminum as some part to bottom is made with magnesium and plastic cover inside it to protect the components. The metallic body made is quite perfect notebook without any kind of problem regarding twisting or softness in surface so Overall HP Spectre XT TouchSmart 15 has great Super-attractive design.
It has a 15.6 inch touch screen IPS glossy panel display which offer the resolution of 1920x1080 which is perfect for this range of notebook and its quite adjustable with 15.6 inch display as we often see the problem in seeing the thing on 11.6 inch display, having 1080p resolution. The IPS panel is perfect for wide viewing angles and as expected, HP Spectre XT TouchSmart 15 is a good notebook on which you can watch movies with friends without any problem. The brightness is quite nice and the ability of display to show the colors perfectly with any shades in ultrahigh resolution is just good but some problem on the top-right edge which is note quite visible but if you concentrate than you can figure it out but its not a big problem. The display is prefect for outdoor use and we had no issue with that at all. The touch screen is quite good to get the input and we had no issue regarding to touch feature of the display. Overall HP Spectre XT TouchSmart 15 is a nice notebook regarding to display.
HP Spectre XT TouchSmart 15 has keyboard without the numpad. The keyboard has no backlighting and the keys are quite perfect for typing regarding to size except the Left-Shift key and the up/down arrow keys are smaller in size. The feedback is good and the keystroke is also perfect for typing. The responsiveness is also great from all the keys but we had some problem with arrow keys as they are smaller and too near to each other (up/down arrow keys). The touch pad is also nice, it is decently large in size and there are no buttons for left/right clicks as the whole touchpad is click able and the multi gesture function is also fine and the responsiveness of touchpad is just perfect as we had no issue with it at all. Overall we found the keyboard and touchpad perfect.
The speakers really impress us with their performance as there are four speakers are in the HP Spectre XT TouchSmart 15, two are located as usual on the top of the keyboard and two are at the bottom of the notebook and together they produce very nice sound, The quality of sound was really good and the bass decrease some times but it does not cause a big issue with sound as the max volume is also quite high so Overall HP Spectre XT TouchSmart 15 has pretty good speakers.
The HP is really good when it comes to manage the temperatures of the notebooks and HP Spectre XT TouchSmart 15 is also good in running without heating up. The HP Spectre XT TouchSmart 15 runs really cool in the idle mode and when it was under stress tests, the temperature all around the notebook remain well under the usual load-temp level so users can easily use the HP Spectre XT TouchSmart 15 on the lap without having any kind of issue. The fan remain quite in idle mode as usual and it does produce much louder noise when the notebook was under stress tests so normal user should not have any problem with temperatures but noise in load may cause distraction to some people. Overall HP Spectre XT TouchSmart 15 remain cool and but not quiet in stress tests.
HP Spectre XT TouchSmart 15 has high speed wireless transmission options in form of Bluetooth 4.0 and latest “n” band supported wifi. It has Ethernet port, HDMI, 2x USB 3.0 and mini-display/Thunderbolt port on the left side and on the right side, it has 1x USB 2.0, audio port, card reader and AC-in jack for adaptor. The good thing is, it has a thunderbolt port which is quite great as far as high speed connectivity is conern as many high speed devices can be connect through this port simultaneously so it’s a plus point for HP Spectre XT TouchSmart 15. Overall HP Spectre XT TouchSmart 15 has all the necessary connectivity options.
HP Spectre XT TouchSmart 15 is a very nice ultrabook which has good multi touch IPS display, keyboard, touchpad and connectivity including thunderbolt as well. It has good storage solution as well i.e. SSD but it has short battery life and runs a bit louder in stress so you have to decide on which things you are ready to compromise but overall HP Spectre XT TouchSmart 15 is not a bad choice for anyone !
