The notebook is full of many kind of notebooks and use has much more options to choose from today than before. I went in the market to buy a notebook for my personal use and the things that I consider were, I am not going to play games on my notebook so Intel HD graphics would be enough so I concentrate to get a better CPU and as I like the mobility that is why I choose SSD as storage solution, USB 3.0 is necessary along with Ethernet port should be included but the main important thing is battery life. I mention these things for just to give you an idea on how to group 3 or 4 notebooks which matches you criteria most. Today we are going to review an Asus notebook. Asus is famous for its notebooks of wide variety with best build quality and performance. Today we will review Asus K75DE which is AMD APU based notebook.

The Asus K75DE has the same solid black color scheme which we had seen in many Asus notebooks in the past. The Asus K75DE has inconsistent case regarding build quality. The surface is smooth and made with plastic and some other material and there is some use of metal. The surface can easily take up the finger print which is dislike by some people. The Asus K75DE has much softness, in the portion above the optical drive and lid. The lid can be bent easily to dangerous limit. The hinges are good but we found a problem in the left hinge which might be a manufacturing fault. The keyboard surface and the area above the keyboard is also a bit soft. The rounded corner are good to see but the inconsistent build quality is the problem which is a blunder to me because its present in most of the parts. Overall Asus K75DE has inconsistent build quality.

The Asus K75DE has 17.3 inch display with multi-touch and it’s the main feature for this series of Asus notebooks. The display is basically TN LED backlight display with the max resolution of 1600x900 which is a bit disappointing because with a 17+ inch display, the resolution should be 1920x1080. The surface of the notebook is glossy which will cause the problem of reflection in the outdoor work. The Asus K75DE’s display has a bit low brightness and the image quality of the display is also not as good as it has to be. The inconsistency can be seen easily while working with ultra-high resolution images so display is not suitable for the professionals. The contrast ratio is of standard level which is not way suitable for the professionals. The viewing angles of the Asus K75DE’s display are very limited and it not easy to see the things on display from right/ left and upper/ lower position than front ideal position. Overall Asus K75DE has poor display screen.

As Asus K75DE is a 17.3 inch notebook so full keyboard including separate numeric pad is expected and it is included. The keyboard is of large size as well as keys are of enough large size for accurate typing. The flat surface with some roughness gives the user comfort and pleasure of tying. The keys stroke and good feed-back really please us. The special functions can be used by combination of FN + F1 to F8 key as usual. The touchpad is of large size as expected and the click-keys are not physically separated but by just a white line on the surface. The good pressure points make is very suitable for navigation or some other work. The multi-touch gesture feature is also good and it had to be for windows 8 based PC. Overall Asus K75DE as good keyboard and touchpad.

The Asus K75DE has something better for audio solution as Asus decides to go with Sonic sound master to give the Asus K75DE an edge over competitor and it does really well, the audio quality is pretty good and the base is also pretty decent. The max volume is also loud enough. Overall Asus K75DE has good speakers.

The Asus K75DE has some strange results as far as temperatures are concerned as it runs a bit hot during the idle scenario but it still remains cool during the load/ stress than any other competitor notebooks. The temperatures raise more than usual in idle working but remain low under load. The noise produced by the fan of Asus K75DE was much low during the idle working as well as under load and its quite good for people who like a but quiet notebooks especially businessmen. Overall Asus K75DE remain cool and much quiet.

The Asus K75DE has very limited wireless connectivity options as it has WiFi for high speed connectivity but the problem is that it does not have Bluetooth so only one options is available for wireless connectivity. The Asus K75DE had card reader on the front side and it has nothing on the back. It has 2x audio ports, AC-in, optical drive and 2x USB 2.0 on the right side and on the left side, it has Kingston lock, Ethernet port, VGA, HDMI and 2x USB 3.0 ports and I really like to see 2x USB 3.0 ports in Asus K75DE. Overall Asus K75DE has good connectivity options.

The Asus K75DE has Lithium-ion based battery of 50.7 watts which manage to keep it running for about 368 during our battery life test which is pretty good. We measure the battery life by running all the tasks which a normal user runs on his notebook as Microsoft Office work, Typing while listening audio songs, watching HD movie/ clips, surfing web via Wifi, Copying files from HDD to HDD and from USB flash drive etc. to get the most realistic result instead of running any battery life benchmarks. Overall Asus K75DE has pretty good battery life.

The Asus K75DE is pretty good notebook and it depends upon your budget as if you had more money than you can get better than Asus K75DE as its not the best so lets talk about its pros!, it has good battery life and it has good speakers, keyboard and touchpad. The Asus K75DE remains cool and quiet under load. The Asus K75DE has all the connectivity options including 2x USB 3.0 port but Bluetooth is not available. The bad things about Asus K75DE are two, 1st it does not had good and consistent build quality and 2nd thing is that, it does have a poor 17.3-inch display with 1600x900 resolution and it is no way suitable for professionals and for outdoor work. It is AMD based so best performance can’t be expect in low price. Yes, it is not best but its not bad at all, as I mention above, it depends upon your pocket!. Final decision is your and contact me for more advice if you want…..
