Thinking is a good habit for humans but thinking too much could be dangerous thing for your pocket as my friend had find a notebook for himself but he take much time to think so all the notebooks of that model are soled now and he had to pay ordering charges to get that notebook which increase the cost 7%. I am not saying that you should not think but taking too much time to think is also not good. Think and decide but never change your decision later. Dell is a famous brand in the market as they bring too many options to the notebook users by their variety of notebooks available today. We are going to review Dell Latitude XT3.

Dell prefers to use the plastic in the case of Dell Latitude XT3 and the dark grey color scheme dominates the whole design as well. The Dell Latitude XT3 seems to be a good quality build notebook and Dell gives it a title of “Tri-Metal” case on their website. The lid is quite good and the area above the keyboard proves it to be a solid notebook regarding build quality. The idea of using orange colored embellishment around the keyboard looks good. The bottom side is made with plastic and as usual battery and maintenance hatch are located there but the softness is quiet low especially on the right corner. The display can be turn as well fold and you can use the Dell Latitude XT3 as tablet as well with digitizer which is provided with notebook .The Dell Latitude XT3 with the 2.2 Kg of weight seems to be a greatly build notebook. Overall Dell Latitude XT3 has great build quality and nice design.

The Dell Latitude XT3 has 13.3 inch LED panel display which offers the max resolution of about 1366x768 which is pretty good for this size of display. The display has multi-touch feature as well as digitizer. The surface is not. The multi-touch feature and digitizer both work really great and precisely and we do not face any problem while making paintings of a friends with pen and finger. The display has good max brightness and the contrast ratio is pretty good and Dell Latitude XT3 is far better than its competitors. The image quality of the display is really good and professional should not have any problem with quality. The display has pretty decent viewing angles and they are good as you can expect from a LED panel display screen. The screen can be turn pretty much and the controlling mechanism seems to be good as well. Overall Dell Latitude XT3 has nice display.

The Dell Latitude XT3 is basically 13.3-inch notebook so keyboard is not big in size. The keyboard covers 95% area available on the surface and the keys are of pretty decent size as expected. The arrow keys are larger in size which is pretty good whereas most of the notebooks had smaller arrow keys than other keyboard keys. The special functions can be used with combination of F1-F8 with “Fn” key. The shift and enter keys are large as well. The keyboard provide a stable and consistent feedback and responsiveness for accurate typing. The touchpad is not large but it has decent size with click keys on the top and bottom. The multi-gesture feature is supported but surface area of touchpad is not enough in my opinion for that. The touchpad is good regarding responsive to touch and the keys are good as well. Overall Dell Latitude XT3 has nice keyboard and touchpad.

The Dell Latitude XT3 has pretty poor speaker and they are expected to be at least standard performer as we expect from Dell. The Dell Latitude XT3’s speakers are not good regarding sound quality and the base is very low as well. The speakers at max volume are decently loud but they destroy sound quality and sound very poor at max volume level. Overall Dell Latitude XT3 has poor speaker system.

The Dell Latitude XT3 expected to have good heat controlling and fan as the temperatures on the surface and of components were quite low during the idle working test but somehow they increase rapidly when we start stress test and temperature in load test were very unsuitable for the user to use notebook on the lap. That is not good especially for student who use their notebooks mostly on the lap. The fan of Dell Latitude XT3 produces low noise which is rarely audible and not all distracting. The fan never completely turns off during the idle working test and when we start stress test, the noise also increase rapidly and it was distracting and loud. The businessmen who like quieter notebooks will not be happy with Dell Latitude XT3. Overall Dell Latitude XT3 does not runs cool and quiet as expected.

The Dell Latitude XT3 has pretty decent connectivity options but latest options as not available. The Dell Latitude XT3 has Bluetooth 3.0 ad WiFi for wireless connectivity. The Dell Latitude XT3 has Pen-port/ holder, FireWire, audio port, 1x USB 2.0 and card reader on the left side. It has AC-In, HDMI, Ethernet port and VGA on the rear. The Dell Latitude XT3 has Kingston lock port, 2x USB 2.0, smart card reader and wireless switch on the right side. The Dell Latitude XT3 is not a ultrabook but it does not have optical drive which is not good. Overall Dell Latitude XT3 has decent connectivity options.

The Dell Latitude XT3 has Lithium-ion based battery of 44 watts which manage to keep it running for about 263 minutes in our battery life test. We measure the battery life by running all the tasks which a normal user is going to do like Microsoft Office work, audio songs, Video songs/ clips, surfing web via Wifi, copying files, text editing, photo editing and some gaming to measure the battery life of notebook in real world and not measuring by any battery benchmarks which are far from real life results. Overall Dell Latitude XT3 has good battery life.

The Dell Latitude XT3 is a good notebook for normal user which has many good things and few bad things. The Dell Latitude XT3 has good display with multi-touch and digitizer features and they are precise as well. The Dell Latitude XT3 has good keyboard and touchpad. The Dell Latitude XT3 has decent connectivity options. The Dell Latitude XT3 has good design and great build quality especially notebook + tablet feature. The Dell Latitude XT3 has good battery life as well but the optical drive is not present whereas case is not slim to be considered as an ultrabook. The latest USB 3.0 and Bluetooth 4.0 are not available and speakers are poor. The Dell Latitude XT3 is not suitable for using on the lap due to its high temperatures and noise of the fan is also distracting.
