Thinking is a good habit for humans but thinking too much could be dangerous thing for your pocket as my friend had find a notebook for himself but he take much time to think so all the notebooks of that model are soled now and he had to pay ordering charges to get that notebook which increase the cost 7%. I am not saying that you should not think but taking too much time to think is also not good. Think and decide but never change your decision later. Lenovo is a famous brand in the market as they bring too many options to the notebook users by their variety of notebooks available today. We are going to review Lenovo ThinkPad T431s.

The Lenovo ThinkPad T431s has a bit different design than its previous/ predecessor T430 where is color scheme is not much different from T series of Lenovo notebooks. The body has some changes as hinges which are improved than previous model and the lid which is made with carbon fiber instead of black plastic. The Lenovo ThinkPad T431s has more softness than previous model as the area around the keyboard and palm rest has some softness which is more than its predecessor. The total weight of the Lenovo ThinkPad T431s is about 1.56Kg which is very low than usual notebooks. The lid is pretty much thin and that is the new feature of Lenovo ThinkPad T431s. The Lenovo ThinkPad T431s seems to be a decent ultrabook. Overall Lenovo ThinkPad T431s has decent design and build quality.

The Lenovo ThinkPad T431s has 14.0 inch TN LED panel display which offers the max resolution of about 1600x900 which is pretty good for this size of display. The TN LED panel displays performs very good after IPS panel display so expectations from Lenovo ThinkPad T431s’s display are not low at all. The brightness of the display is pretty good and its much better than its predecessor which is really nice to see. The contrast ratio of the display is also improved than its predecessor as well. The image quality of the display is very good and the viewing angles of the display are pretty decent and this display can be used outdoor with full brightness. Overall Lenovo ThinkPad T431s has good display screen.

As the Lenovo ThinkPad T431s is a 14.0 inch notebook so full keyboard is not expected. Lenovo use “Spill Resistant Accu-Type” keyboard which is basically Chiclet style keyboard as they mention on their website as well. The keys have solid black color and with much improved feedback and pressure point, the keys perform very well in our typing test. The keyboard has backlighting as well. There are no dedicated function keys so you had to use combination of “Fn” with F1 to F12 for different functions. Overall size of the keyboard is also pretty large for a 14 inch notebook. The touchpad is of large size which you can expect on a 14 inch notebook. The surface is basically matte surface and it also support multi-gesture feature. The click keys are integrated and this integration gives much space for the touchpad. The whole touchpad can be used for clicking. The touchpad done well in our test and it pleased us with its accuracy and responsiveness. Overall Lenovo ThinkPad T431s has good keyboard and nice touchpad.

The Lenovo ThinkPad T431s has 2 stereo speakers of 1 watt power. The  speakers are located on the bottom side, near to rear. The speakers produce decently loud volume which is pretty good but the base is inconsistent and its is not enough for good speakers. The sound quality is not bad but its only of acceptable level. The user can use external speakers for better performance. Overall Lenovo ThinkPad T431s has decent speakers.

The  Lenovo seems to be unfocused on the temperature management of Lenovo ThinkPad T431s. The Lenovo ThinkPad T431s run warm during the idle working as the temperatures were higher than usual. The Lenovo ThinkPad T431s has pretty high temperatures in the load/ stress test which is not good for the users who use their notebooks on the lap. We recommend to do not use Lenovo ThinkPad T431s on the lap. The fan of Lenovo ThinkPad T431s produce higher noise in idle working than usual level for notebooks. The noise was a bit audible but not distracting. The noise raise rapidly during load/ stress test and its was louder and distracting. Especially the businessmen will not like this noisy notebook at all. Overall Lenovo ThinkPad T431s run hot and louder.

The Lenovo ThinkPad T431s has pretty good connectivity options for the users as it has high speed Bluetooth 4.0 and Latest WiFi module for high speed wireless connectivity. It has Kingston lock, mini Display Port and 1x USB 3.0 on the right side and it has nothing on the front. The Lenovo ThinkPad T431s has SIM slot on the rear side while on the left side, it has AC-in, 1x USB 3.0, Ethernet port, VGA, SD card reader, smart card reader and 1x audio port. The Lenovo ThinkPad T431s has no optical drive as its launched as ultrabook but honestly, it not thin as many other ultrabooks are…..Overall Lenovo ThinkPad T431s has nice connectivity options.

The Lenovo ThinkPad T431s has Lithium-ion based 3 Cell battery of 47 watts which somehow manage to keep it running for about 381 minutes during our battery life test. We measure the battery life by running all the tasks which a normal user is going to do like Microsoft Office work, audio songs, Video songs/ clips, surfing web via Wifi, copying files, text editing, photo editing and some gaming to measure the battery life of notebook in real world and not measuring by any battery benchmarks which are far from real life results. Overall Lenovo ThinkPad T431s has good battery life.

The Lenovo ThinkPad T431s is a good notebook and there is no doubt that its is better than its predecessor but let comes on facts, It has nice display with 1600x900 resolution which is enough for 14-inch display, it has very good battery life and connectivity options are also great. It has great and responsive touchpad and keyboard as well. The speakers are not good as they had to be and this notebook runs louder and hotter. It is not thin as ultrabooks are and it does not have optical drive as well. The design is good but case has softness and build quality is inconsistent. It is your decision to but this notebook but before making your mind, keep all the thing in mind which i mention above and if you are still confuse than do not hesitate to contact us !!!
