We have seen plenty of nice Intel 4th and 3rd Gen. based notebooks and yet to review another great ultrabook which is also based on Intel 4th and 3rd Gen. Core processors. To be honest, all the notebooks which we had review till today, had their own respect in the market and one may like a notebook and others may not. It all the about budget and needs and that is the point where many people went into the confusion, they can’t decide perfectly, yes compromising is necessary for many but “compromising on which side” matters. Well, today we are going to review an HP Sleekbook having Intel 3th Gen. Processor inside which is HP Pavilion SleekBook 15.

The new HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15 has pretty nice 15.6-inch cool, calm and smart design with shiny black matte surface which give it the perfect ultrabook looks. The HP seems to make a good impression regarding their SleekBook series so may be that why they work hard on design and case of HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15. The most of the outer body has been made with black glossy plastic and also some aluminum work which gives this SleekBook good shiny looks and strength without increasing unnecessary weight. The total weight of HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15 is about 2.23 Kg with power supply and about 2.04 kg of itself. The build quality is pretty good as we do not find any flaws in case and softness. Overall HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15 has good attractive design and solid build quality.

The HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15 has a 15.6-inch glossy TN LED panel display which provides the max resolution of about 1366x768 which is pretty decent but these days 1920x1080 is the expected resolution with 15.6-inch notebooks. The brightness of display is not as good as expected. The brightness is pretty low than the expected level and it will definitely cause problem in outdoor work. The contrast ratio is also not good as expected and the image quality is also not good and we can easily see the low quality near to the edges. The viewing angles of the display are pretty limited especially vertical angles are much limited; watching movie with 4 or 5 friends would not be a good idea. The display is not good when you sit outdoor with notebook and content on display screen will be difficult to view due to low brightness. Overall HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15 has poor display screen.

The HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15 is a 15.6-inch notebook and a full keyboard is expected with notebooks of this size and HP provides a full keyboard. The keys are large enough and the Chiclet style keyboard with rectangular shaped keys, we found the keyboard as good for typing with good feedback and pressure points. The keys are responsive and good. The up and down arrow keys are too much close to each other which may take some time to get use to them. The touchpad is large enough and has the multi-touch feature as well. The click keys are right under the touchpad which nice regarding responsiveness. The touchpad is good in normal and multi-touch working and we found no problem with touchpad. Overall HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15 has good touchpad.

The HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15 has speaker located above the keyboard which is an ideal position for notebook speakers to be located. The speakers are loud enough but the sound quality is horrible, yes it not good, too bad and the base was completely missing. We think no one will enjoy music from tiny speakers with poor sound quality. Overall HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15 has poor speakers.

The HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15 has decent connectivity options as it has only WiFi for high speed wireless connectivity and there is no built-in Bluetooth which is not good and un-expected from HP. The HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15 has Audio-Jack, 1x USB 2.0 and Kingston lock on the left side and it has 2x USB 3.0, HDMI, Ethernet port, AC-in and card reader on the right side. The HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15 does not have VGA port and optical drive as it’s a ultrabook. Overall HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15 has decent connectivity options.

The HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15 has 4 Cell; Lithium-ion based battery of 37 watts which manages to keep the notebook running for about 215 minute which is less than expected level of 250 minutes. Our battery life test includes running all the normal tasks e.g. typing while listening audio songs, watch HD clips, web surfing via WiFi, burning CD/DVD, copying files on internal storage to internal storage/ USB drives, some gaming, photo editing etc. We measure battery life by doing these things twice and after calculating average of both timing, we take the average as final battery life to get the real life based measurements instead of running battery life benchmarks by softwares which are mostly not applicable to real life scenario regarding of battery life. Overall HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15 has decent battery life but less than expected level of 250 minutes.

The HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15 has pretty good design and color scheme with shiny back matte surface which can attract people easily. It has decent connectivity options but Bluetooth is not available and the display is not good at all. The speakers are poor and the HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15 has good keyboard and touchpad. The HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15 has 3rd Gen. Intel Core i5 CPU with Nvidia GT 630M GPU. The HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15 is not good for professional users.
