WD Caviar Green 3TB Review + BenchMarks

                                       Today, where every one is looking to get more and more speed and want to push the limits. Each of us want to get a high speed mobile, Desktop, Laptop I.e. every thing should work in high speed so SSDs are famous for Desktop and Laptop user for high speed DATA transfer but every one need much space to store its DATA weather its photos/videos of friends, video or audio songs, we need storage space to store them but as SSDs are not yet capable to store all our data, we still need the previous storage device, HDD. This week we take 1st look at Western Digital HDD. Western Digital Caviar Green 3 TB of great storage space. Western Digital has a great record and the world’s top HDD manufacturer these days. Their Caviar Green HDD series is much famous and many people are using their Caviar Green HDDs for storage.

                                     Western Digital Caviar Green 3 TB is a desktop version i.e its not going to fit into the laptop. Western Digital Caviar Green 3 TB has high rate of lower than 7200 rpm which is an excellent feature for better read/write speeds as we known its better to have a 7200 rpm HDD than 5400 rpm HDD and with much space of 3 TB it’s good to have that HDD but WD does not specify the rotational speed of WD Caviar Green 3TB. As far as speed is concern, WD Caviar Green 3TB is a decent performer and if take a look their history then we can easily see that the problem with the compatibility is just because of the size but today windows 7 has great support for 3TB or greater storage and the newer Windows 8 has more than that as well. WD Caviar Green 3TB has a 64MB of buffer size and its great to have that buffer size which helps the read speed and write speed. 
WD Caviar Green 3TB consumes less power than the other HDD and performance does not decrease much as the power consumption decreased. I am not going to use it as primary drive as most of us would and also the 3 TB is enough for storage of our daily life’s data. The combination of a SATA 6 Gbps SSD with WD Caviar Green 3TB would be a great idea.

                     

                             The WD Caviar Green 3TB is good HDD for storage purpose as a secondary storage device. It consumes less power the other with good performance and that’s what you need to have for a 3 TB storage HDD. Obviously its not fast than other HDDs but more power efficient without much compromising on read/write speeds.
