The notebooks have played an important role in the daily life of anyone either a businessman or student or someone else who do not want to be a slave of desktop machine. The notebooks are still in talk as many manufacturers introduce new technology in their notebooks as ASUS includes Thunderbolt port in their notebooks and Apple use the IPS screen in their MacBooks before anyone else. I like my notebook to have all the new connectivity options for example: it must have USB 3.0, Bluetooth 4.0, Ethernet port and HDMI. Your requirements depend upon your needs. Today the beauty on the Bench is a Sony Vaio notebook which is Sony Vaio SV-E14A3M2ES.
The Sony Vaio SV-E14A3M2ES has very sleek design and the sliver black color scheme is very nice and attractive, its pretty much similar with the previous model of Vaio SV series. The lid of the Sony Vaio SV-E14A3M2ES has the black color which has good work of aluminum and the silver matte plastic has also been used in the body of Sony Vaio SV-E14A3M2ES. We do not find any softness in body side but the bottom unit has much softness and can be bent a little with some pressure. The hinges are quite good to handle the display. Overall Sony Vaio SV-E14A3M2ES has decent design and inconsistent build quality.
The Sony Vaio SV-E14A3M2ES has 14 inch LG Philips TN LED display panel which supports multi touch feature. The display offers the resolution of 1366x768 which is pretty good for 14 inch display panel. The Sony Vaio SV-E14A3M2ES is also available in 1600x900 and you can get it by paying some more buck but that panel is also TN LED panel, just resolution is greater. The brightness is just good and its O.K for this price range notebook. The image quality is just decent but not good for professional and people who want best quality. The glossy surface case reflection and it has a bit low contrast ratio and the viewing angles are pretty good from horizontal but vertical viewing angles are very limited. All these things make it quite unsuitable for outdoor work. The display has multi touch feature which is not good but not bad, its decent and if you want best than get some high end notebook. Overall Sony Vaio SV-E14A3M2ES has decent display.
The Sony Vaio SV-E14A3M2ES has quite decent size notebook and there is not numpad with it. The keyboard is basically Chiclet and has backlighting and the size of the keys is quite good for typing as well. The keyboard with good feedback and prefect key stroke and has optimal pressure points make it very suitable for fast accurate typing. The keyboard has done well in our typing test. The Sony Vaio SV-E14A3M2ES is also of decent size and the key are not available as it is clickpad and whole surface is clickable. The touchpad has multi gesture feature and it also done well in our tests. Overall Sony Vaio SV-E14A3M2ES has good keyboard and touchpad.
The Sony Vaio SV-E14A3M2ES has two stereo speakers which are located just above the keyboard and that is usual and ideal position for the speakers on any kind of notebook. The speakers have decent max volume level and the base is quite low but the sound quality is inconsistent. Overall Sony Vaio SV-E14A3M2ES has just decent speakers and if you want better performance than go ahead with some better notebooks.
Sony Vaio SV-E14A3M2ES has very low temperatures all around it and of surface as well when the notebook was in idle mode and the temps were also quite acceptable when it was under load and there is no harm to use Sony Vaio SV-E14A3M2ES on the lap. The fan of Sony Vaio SV-E14A3M2ES produce quite low noise in idle mode but it never fully turn off and that come in legacy with Vaio notebooks. The noise was audible but not much distraction i.e. it was of middle level in under load so Sony Vaio SV-E14A3M2ES runs quite cool and quiet in our tests.
The Sony Vaio SV-E14A3M2ES is equipped with all the latest connectivity as it has Bluetooth 4.0 and latest Wifi module for high speed wireless connectivity as well. It has 2x USB 3.0, HDMI, Ethernet port, AC-in and VGA on the left side while on the right side, it has 2x Audio ports, Kingston lock and 2x USB 2.0 ports for physical connectivity so I am very pleased to see 2x USB 3.0 in Sony Vaio SV-E14A3M2ES. Overall Sony Vaio SV-E14A3M2ES has all the latest and necessary connectivity options for the users.
The Sony Vaio SV-E14A3M2ES has the lithium-ion battery of 59 watts which manage to keep Sony Vaio SV-E14A3M2ES running for about 465 minutes in our battery tests and its great for a notebook to run about 7+ hours. We measure battery life by doing the normal tasks as a normal user is going to do on his/ her notebook, for example, typing while listening audio songs, watching HD movie/ clips, surfing web via Wifi, MS-Office work etc. to get the most realistic result. Overall Dell XPS 13 L322X has nice battery life.
The Sony Vaio SV-E14A3M2ES is a good notebook to have as it has some good things like Decent display and design. The keyboard and touchpad are nice. The display has multi touch features as well. The connectivity options are great including 2x USB3.0 as well. The battery life is great of 465 minutes. The build quality is inconsistent and speakers need some improvements. The professionals should go with IPS panel displays for their high detail required work. As always, I am not going to say any bull shit, final decision depend upon you budget and requirements so if you need any advice than contact me without hesitation.
