The notebooks have played an important role in the daily life of anyone either a businessman or student or someone else who do not want to be a slave of desktop machine. The notebooks are still in talk as many manufacturers introduce new technology in their notebooks as ASUS includes Thunderbolt port in their notebooks and Apple use the IPS screen in their MacBooks before anyone else. I like my notebook to have all the new connectivity options for example: it must have USB 3.0, Bluetooth 4.0, Ethernet port and HDMI. Your requirements depend upon your needs. Today the beauty on the Bench is a HP notebook which is HP Pavilion g6-2253sg.
The HP Pavilion g6-2253sg has very nice black color scheme which HP has been used in past in their notebooks. The HP Pavilion g6-2253sg has good design and the nice reflective glossy surface make it very attractive. The glossy surface is also “Dust Attractive” so dust would be main issue for the users of HP Pavilion g6-2253sg. The surface can take up the finger print easily as well. The total weight of HP Pavilion g6-2253sg is about 4.98 Kg which is a bit heavy than other competitor notebooks. The body has been made with a little aluminum and most of the body has been made with dark-black plastic. The build quality is inconsistent and you can easily see the softness in some point on case. The hinges are good to handle the display which is good. Overall HP Pavilion g6-2253sg has decent display.
The HP Pavilion g6-2253sg has 15.6 inch TN LED glossy display panel which offers the resolution of 1366x768 which is good and the display has a glossy surface so reflection would be an issue for the users. The notebook has less brightness display which make it quite difficult to work outdoor in daylight. The image quality of the display is good but inconsistent and you can feel that while viewing the colors in ultra-high resolution displays. The contrast ratio of the display is also inconsistent and the viewing angles are very limited so all these factors make the outdoor work very difficult as we found it quite tough to view the items on display while sitting in the park so Overall HP Pavilion g6-2253sg has poor display.
The HP Pavilion g6-2253sg has full keyboard including the numpad which is good for accurate fast typing. The keyboard is basically Chiclet style keyboard and the overall size of the keyboard is also large and the keys are also large enough. The up/ down arrow keys are quite small and they are too close to each other which cause the wrong tap some times. The touchpad is of decent size and the keys are visible on surface and they separated by a cutting line. The touchpad has multi-touch gesture. The surface of touchpad is good for finger gliding and the touchpad performs well during our tests. Overall HP Pavilion g6-2253sg has good keyboard and nice touchpad.
The HP Pavilion g6-2253sg has use the two stereo speakers from the “Altec Lansing” as mention on their website and the speakers have good max volume level and the sound quality was also good but base is low and missed some times i.e. inconsistent. The people who want better performance should use external speakers with HP Pavilion g6-2253sg. Overall HP Pavilion g6-2253sg has good speakers.
The HP Pavilion g6-2253sg has high temperatures all around the notebook and on the surface while the idle working and the notebook seems to have poor cooling solution as it has high temps even under the load so we recommend to do not use the notebook on the lap while doing any kind of work. The fan of HP Pavilion g6-2253sg produce a bit more noise than other notebooks in the idle mode and the noise under load was also quite audible and distracting so Overall HP Pavilion g6-2253sg has high temps and produce louder noise.
The HP Pavilion g6-2253sg has lithium-ion base battery of 47 watts which manage to keep HP Pavilion g6-2253sg running for about 330 minutes which is good as a gaming notebook. We measure battery life by doing the normal tasks as a normal user is going to do on his/ her notebook, for example, typing while listening audio songs, watching HD movie/ clips, surfing web via Wifi, gaming, MS-Office work etc. to get the most realistic result. Overall Dell XPS 13 L322X has nice battery life.
The HP Pavilion g6-2253sg has some good thing and some bad things, it has poor display, connectivity options are limited but it has 2x USB 3.0 ports which I really like but it has no Gigabyte LAN which is also a problem. It does not have Bluetooth so you have to use adaptor if want to use Bluetooth but it has good battery life and it has good keyboard and nice touchpad. The HP Pavilion g6-2253sg has decent speakers as well. It runs louder and on high temperatures so that’s all, the final decision depends upon your needs and budget but yes, it is not a good gaming notebook, if you want best than go with Intel base notebooks, If you need any advice/ suggestion than contact us without hesitation.
